  • shes remarkable, I love her music

  • what a great song. One of her first and one of her best.

  • How can there be a dislike? whats to not like?

  • I heard this song on one of the Due South episodes, it's really nice...

  • HOLY HELL she was so gorgeous back then, too...

  • just found out shes coming to my hometown in march! great timing.

  • im an old school sarah fan and this is the first time i've heard this..is it off vox?

  • @ghostgrabber It's off of Touch, along with Vox. I don't think (?) Vox is an actual album, although I know plenty of singles and alt-releases have carried its name.

  • @MrTouchShriek

ty..the song is fantastic as is all early sarah.

  • @ghostgrabber Yeah, it's off of the album Touch... it has Vox also. =) This is a different version though... I'm guessing the single.

  • Oh God ! Glam girl at the end of the 'aweful 80s', i'm surprised there wasn't electronic drums.

  • You can convert thiss to an mp3 at awesomemp3s..com

  • That’s some subtle, beautiful direction for that period. Took me a year just to see the dynamic. Fitting for SM.

  • I Love This Sarah McLachlan 1989 Music Video, "Steaming," Which Became A Top 40 Dance Hit In America.

  • Her eyes have a very hypnotic value to them.

  • The classics always hold up =)

  • I Love Her <3

  • My favourite SM tune. What a sensuous vid...she's definitely sexy!! Nice gloved handwork on the mic...I wonder if it's still on her set list...

  • i did go to highschool with her, she was never mean or angry just kinda alternative and cool...we weren't the best of friends but i know she would remember who i am, just like i remember her

  • Due South - Best TV car chase ever

  • is it me or does she look alot like judy garland here

  • @CubeThink Same thing for me! This is her best song ever!!!

  • beutiful song

  • those eyes

  • she looks a bit like kate winslet in this video.

  • -melts- I just LOVE this song, I dont know why its not one of her bigger hits, its AMAZING!

  • oh yeah, i'd read somewhere that she hated high school and if people nowadays ever said that they went to high school with her, she'd assume that they were mean to her back then

  • @chazDRAVIS I went to school with her. Sarah was in my 10th grade math class.

I thought she was a snotty bitch then. We never really spoke or got to know each other. She started High school kind of a preppy rich spoiled type. She befriended a guy named Kenny Seinedes (sp?) aka Kenny Cyanide a leader in the QEHS punk rock scene.. He is actually partly responsible for her discovery. He got to Know Nash the Slash from FM. and I believe thats who put her and Netwerk in contact with each other.

  • Just a landmark song from a fablous artist. !!!

  • i agree

  • Her best song, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

  • lmao

  • The music video should be clips from the episode of Due South "Gift of the Wheelman", which by the way was probably the best episode of the series....

"...The greatest gift my father ever gave me was the courage to trust my own abilities. And I learned that through his example. You know, you can give your son anything you want. But if you don't leave him a good example of how to be a man, you leave him nothing. That's what you'll leave Del. Nothing." -Fraser

  • I love Due South... Gift Of The Wheelman was an awesome episode and that's where I heard this amazing song.

  • hey me2 ;d

  • What's mean "steaming" in spanish?

  • fuego

  • This song is fabulous--I really enjoy her older stuff a lot more than her newer stuff.

  • somebody yell kate bush:

"hounds of love & running up that hill"

  • @rickonline90 Her early stuff was very like Kate Bush

  • I love that evil glare she gives!!! She is a beautiful lady :)

  • Most melodramatic game of checkers ever?

  • Wow very interesting, I would have enjoyed it better if youtube would stop loading only ten seconds for every minute

  • shes gorgeous and i love her perm lol

  • @HOLLISTERbeadz Don't know if that's a perm, friend. =) She always talks about how her hair really is crazy curly. I can definitely identify with that, mine is the same way!

  • This song is just too incredible. It also reminds me of Due South, possibly the greatest tv show of all time?!

  • HAHA. <3 DS. I actually discovered this song through the show.

  • this is my fav sarah song- she was 21 when she made this video, adn underbelly, what month and year did u record this lovely song, i know it was either 89' or '90 but which one?

  • Amazing song...

  • I LOVED Due South! Not a surprise that that show featured a lot of Sarah's music, given that the main character was a Canadian Mountie. Paul Fraser was great in that show, and Sarah's music was a perfect complement.

  • Paul Fraser? HEE. Think you're getting your names confused there :P I love 'Due South' as well. Such a great show. I've found that Sarah's music is #1 in a lot of fandoms: my first fandom of all time was "The X-Files," and her music (while not featured within the show) always resonated largely within the fan-base.

  • I love her shoulders

  • she is so beautiful.

  • There aint nuthin bout her that don't do sumpthin for me! And as usual GREAT SONG!!!!!

  • Kind of reminds me a bit of U2's Unforgettable Fire album in a way.

  • Reminds a lot Due South......

  • Reminds me a bit of Twin Peaks for some reason.

  • You may be thinking of the band that always did a lot of that odd music for TP, and was featured a few times. They have an episode where the lead singer is featured in an outfit/setting that looks remarkably similar to Sarah's here.

  • amazing song

  • love it, first saw it on her video collection, I bought it for my boyfriend, and we both fell in love with the video. We are both HUGE sarah fans..she looks and sounds amazing as usual!! I think that younger guy with the older woman is robert sean leonard the actor

  • This is my favourite song from Touch -

this song has a real Peter Gabriel sound!

  • this song reminds me of my first love...this song had just came out ... god i love her soooo much... crab louie in sacto

  • I can't believe how young she is here. I never knew she made videos this far back. Strong song, holds up even today, with those soaring, dramatic vocals of hers. Very nice...

  • this is her first album from 1989,she was 21

  • A great song! This is played on one of the Due South episodes called 'gift of the wheelman'.

  • one of my favourites a true sarah classic, wish she could sing it live next time tours.

  • Great music!

  • this is a very sensual song from a very young Sarah (21 years old in 1989)

  • that's me playing bass!

  • Touch is still my favorite album, I got it for my sixth birthday from my brother because he thought it sounded like me. lol.

  • I first heard this behind a car chase on an edition of `Due South'. The rest, as they say, is history but includes the purchase of all her albums and a concert. A fabulous musician and so under-appreciated. Go Sarah! Anyone know what year this is?

  • hello ... I do believe this is from 1990 .... actually i am sure ! Pauline

  • It is definately 1989. I should know, I'm in it.

    thanks for posting it!

  • Wow - how are you in it?! Where...?!

  • I'm the stand-up bass player! I played with Sarah on the Touch album and the consequent tours. I co-wrote and played bass and sang on 'Trust'. (and several other tracks that didn't make it on to Solace.)

fyi: Sherri Leigh on drums, Stephen Nikleva on guitar, Darren Philips on keys and me, Jeff Krosse.

It was filmed at the famed 'Railway Club' in Vancouver. Directed by Dermot Shane. Dave Kershaw makes an appearance as the bartender.

  • So dude, what was Sarah like to work with?

She seems really nice as a person, very

    honest and compassionate.

  • 1989 actually cancerbeauty

  • From Sarah's 1st album "Touch"Just fantastic!!!!

  • it makes me wana *cry* and *sing* at the same time

  • This is the song that made me fall in love with her. Thanks for sharing.

  • PLease don't ever delete this vid.

  • yes, dont EVER delete this wonderful song !
