Nice but given all the salt water under the bridge when i finally make it to Ireland the scariest thing I'll be up to is Playing a round of golf at "Old Head" and drinking away any memory of any bad shots with as much Guinness as I can swill down before I pass out.I wouldn't be against watching the lads have a go at those waves though.
I watched the billbong xxl awards for 2008+the biggest wave surfed this year was in s.africa so fair play u and ur countrymen. One thing,it was estimated at 61 feet +person was towed into it. It was also estimated as the biggest wave ever surfed in s.africa and to be honest it doesnt look bigger than the waves in this video, if anything it is smaller. It was every bit as impressive as the surf in this video but there r no comments from irish slating big wave surfing in s.africa
Morganphillipsuk.Yes people have paddled into 25 foot Hawaian. Not sure is there a safe paddle take off point at Mullaghmore.Maintaining position never mind the paddle drop in that size would be almost impossible as the water runs off the ledge. If you got caught on the inside..?!Feel free to give it a shot.If you or anyone else wants to paddle it that size let me know when and I ll be there....to film you!Fair play to the brave surfers in Winter.Awsome
S.Africa.....not saying this isn't big, just not 40 foot.Guys far better than I paddle into large Sunsets and Dungeons every winter. I stayed in Irealnd for a year, had some fairly good waves, but not like some of the potential I have seen filmed. Never came close to a tan.
yeah i thought it wasnt that big too then i saw the film wave riders and i can say that those waves are easily 45 feet nearly 55feet they are huge, in this video it just has a bad angle
yeah....watched this a few times since my first view, and it does look bigger than the first view.......'wave riders'....irish production?....will look out for that
Does anyone know if you can rent boards n suits in Rossnowlagh. Want to go there instead of Mullaghmore and Bundoran coz its close to home. Any ideas? For Easter bank holiday weekend... thanks!
