  • Hey, started playing the harp about 4 months ago and was totally lost for the first one. Since discovering your lessons I have improved so much. Adam, you are one hell of an inspiration. Its great to see your roots (so to speak). S&A are amazing together! I cant wait till I get further into the lessons.

  • btw, I meant it was great.

  • I can't believe that anyone commenting had negative things to say. We must be thankful! Besides, make a video response if you can do better. Put your money where your proverbial mouth is.

  • I understand the comments. But the truth is, Sterling is on the comeback trail. In the months since this gig, he's continued to strengthen and transform himself; these days (April 08) he's packing 'em in every Monday night at the Peninsula Inn in Gulfport, FL. This video shows an early test run, but we cooking with gas now.

  • You jump around more in your house than on stage lol. It sounds awesome. I would have liked to see that. If only I didn't live on the other side of the world.

  • Adam. I agree with your comment. you'd no doubt agree that you wouldn't have become the awsome harp player you are now without jammn with Satan on the streets for all those years. Remember him for what he was, and respect him now for the man he is

  • Sorry Adam but as you probably know there are some real idiots out there.I think you and Mr. Magee are some Great Men! Not just musically but Great Men period. I can't believe the time and trouble you both have spent on other people through the years and it is greatly appreciated by all but one ignorant - out there. I hope this idiot has the guts to respond back. Unbelievable.

    Your faithful student,Terry

  • Terry: Sterling Magee is no longer Mister Satan, the brilliant and fiery guitarist/one-man-band from Harlem. He is what he is. He is beloved in the Tampa blues scene. He enjoys playing. I fought through my own disappointment about what he's lost and realized that I could still take joy in who he is. He WAS the greatest. He's still alive, still teaching us. The blues lessons continue, for those willing to learn them.

  • Pagramandparham: I'm intrigued by your comment, which is at odds not only with other comments here but with the live audience's delighted reaction. Are you criticizing Sterling's (plainly) diminished abilities, or my harmonica accompaniment, or both?

  • WOW! Had to go out into the Houston heat to cool off a bit over pegraignoramus' comments. How STUPID can you be!? Thank you very much for the GREAT Performance Adam, MR.Satan, and Drummer! I really enjoyed it. Also, thank you very much for taking us with you on your tour Adam.I look forward to every new post.

One of your greatful students,Terry. (p.s. pegaramus go flog yourself! Would like to say more to you but not enough space left)

  • Amazing! Mr. Satan sounds the same as he did 10 years ago. It's a shame you couldn't hear his guitar most of the time, but your harp certainly hasn't lost that gripping tone.

  • His voice sounds mostly the same, but his dazzling guitar abilities are mostly gone, I'm afraid. Still, he couldn't play a single note four years ago, so the fact that we could even do this gig is remarkable.

  • Am I prying If I ask why he couldn't play for four years?

  • BraDDest: He had (by his own public admission) a nervous breakdown. It took a lot out of him. There's an essay in my new book about this period.

  • Adam,

I love the set and appreciate all the lessons.

The version you did of Fever was amazing. Do you have video of it?

  • Nice to see you together again! Thanks for the video, it is great!

  • Im with kokoro86, that was a deadly finish to Watermelon man.Nice one!

  • I love it, it reminds me of the first time I heard you two playing on the radio.

  • Very cool. Too bad Mr Satan's guitar was so far down in the mix. You sounded great.

    Peace and music,

    Dave

  • Now that's the BLUES! It's like you two just picked up where you left off over 10 years ago! Great performance.
