@britdemo actually it does, a heavier or more forward cab gives more counter-weight allowing a heavier load to be lifted without the front wheels coming off the ground or having too little weight on them.
@killer2600 , the cab is only there to protect the driver , thats it , companies make bonneted trucks to the engine is not under the floor , thus givving the driver more room , in theory you coud cut the cab off and still drive it , the wieght is all down to way the truck is made , how is a fiber glass or aluminium cab contributing , when there is 30 tonne of steal over the arse end
@britdemo true a cab is for the driver, not necessary for protection but it does offer some protection. That's not the only use of the cab though, depending on design it offers engineering advantages. The truck in this video is made to have a short wheel base for use in tighter areas where a longer truck would not work, the cab over is ideal for this. The disadvantage is the front of a short wheel base truck is more easily lifted when the rear is weighed down.
@britdemo A longer wheel base truck takes more weight on the rear to get the front off the ground without needing as much or any counter-weight as a short wheel base truck. But then again a longer wheel base truck is longer. The truck in this video is too short IMO, the steering wheels are directly infront of the wrecker body and the body is as short as possible. Need alot of dead weights on the front to tow good with that truck and if nothing is on the back the front is heavy.

Those cab overs like that just look weird with that wrecker body...just looks like it's gonna pick up a heavy load and wheelie.

@killer2600 what the hell , the cab has nothing to do with how much it can carry , by the way foden 5*
