Looking back on these old performances, it strikes me how lovely Julianne's costume choices were (okay, the tigress costume was a little much.) Compared to the costumes worn on this year's competition, hers were very tame but tasteful!

@AkihiroHattori52455 I started watching DWTS with this season and, from my observation, she didn't start becoming a lift nazi until like seaosn 5 and after. But then again, I didn't watch the first 3 seasons. But I always wondered this too.

@girolle01 Then you missed Season 3; there were so many lifts they had to dedicate a portion of one of the result shows to clarify what a lift is. In that season all the judges caught the lifts and penalized the couples for them. I do recall Carrie Ann flagging lifts in Season 2 and, from what I know, no one violated the rule in Season 1. I'm not sure what happened this season.

This dance is growing on me. The more I watch it, the more I like it. Len was so unfair and wrong about this dance. Apolo was so smoooooth, and he and Julianne danced like one. Joey can blame Len for being in the bottom two. The more Len judged Apolo unfairly, the more people gave Apolo ALL their votes to keep him in even though they probably usually split their votes between Joey and Apolo.

Every time I watch this, it reminds me of that rehearsal segment where Julianne kicks the back of Apolo's knee and says "bend your knees or I'll bend them for you." LOL. And poor Apolo just looks at her - what else can he do? LOL. Well, she trained him right. He bent his knees beautifully in this dance.

I actually don't mind Samantha as host at all, but to each his/her own :) Tom has been "hella" funny though, I will say - I'd like it if Apolianne did a rumba maybe to Hoobastank's "The Reason" 'cause it reminds me of Apolo or "You Look Wonderful Tonight" by Clapton and other songs ( most likely won't happen though) Go Apolianne for finals! Apolo is great, he amazes me over and over, I think Len just wants to push Apolo to do even more.

Maybe one realy "competition-like-ballroom" dance without so many show elements in choreography.

From other dancers he can not ask for it but from Apolo ... well, I think if Apolo would practice ballroom dances for year or two he could be like a pro ...lol...

To claim that their foxtrot lacks sophistication is unbelievable. Julianne injects moves into their routines that reflect their youth, but for some reason Len penalizes them for this. They have consistently had the best choreography throughout the season by far.
