@mrdeltaforce100 it should be because he is using piccolo strings making it an octave higher then standard bass tuning so its actually in the same range as the guitar. all you have to do is find out how he tunes his strings and then you should be good

@Chicocaqui That's ok man, I didn't see it as an attack, but wanted to point out A Bass Guitar is an instrument with different tones and frequencies...It actually has more range on frequencies and dynamics than a guitar has, that's why we get Graphic EQ on our amps and guitarists don't.

This is a great demonstration of what the instrument can do on both of those scales.

But... why are you using piccolo strings? I mean, there is a instrument that is one octave upper than a bass with 2 more extra strings. It's called electric guitar ;).

@Chicocaqui A guitar on it's own doesn't sound as fat as this...When played like this the bass becomes like a piano. Guitar is great for chords but not this play style, this is where bass becomes unique.

The tones of piccolo basses and electric guitars are so far apart from each other that they couldn't be moved farther from each other if one tried to with some sort of tone-moving machine. Also, the builds and harmonics responses of electrics and basses are totally different. Electrics cannot be easily plucked unless your fingers are in their fetal stage, and they cannot clearly produce harmonics beyond the fourth fret. Fuck you, nigger.

@milou80 Actually the cello has a much larger range than the tenor sax, as the cello plays all the way through bass, tenor and treble clefs. Tenor sax does play within the range of the cello. But apart from that good point, well made. I guess i have an advantage here cos i play bass and sax and my sax teacher plays cello. but yeah jus about every instrument falls within the range of the piano, that doesnt make them the same, i agree completely
