Yes, but isn't it nice when you can get mutual co-operation and interaction between drivers? These suburban roads were perfectly adequate when they were built. It's just that there are too many cars now, and not enough parking spaces.
good thing i do not live there lol cause i would prbly hit everything in my view. left side of the car wow i guess i am gald i will have a driver when i go to the uk
like the video . seems scary driving in Bristol. driving on that side of the road right side just seems wrong but im sure many british folks think driving on the left side seems wrong .if i ever visit the uk id better just hire someone to drive me .if i drove im sure id be in a wreck in less than 20 seconds...me being an American im use to the left side...
i didnt think i can drive a manual but i learned so maybe driving on the wrong side of the track wont be that hard to learn either...thanks for the videos
Driving in ANY British city is a piece of piss. Bristol is no exception. Trust me, when you have driven in Paris, Rome and worst of all Kosovo, it's easy.
/MattieKirby1////////////////////lol it depends on your point of view..we americans drive on the right side meanning the correct side......the english drive on the opposite side....meaning the wrong side.....lol kidding.....id like to drive in england one day , i bet i can master driving on the opposite side ....
@angeloscity A lot of Brits rent a car on vacation in spain, france and other countries and manage to drive on both sides of the road with no problems. You just have to be able to drive a manual car.
@04smallmj ..i just dont understand why so many europeans drive with a maual....in the US we mostly drive the automatic cars...even sports cars ,most get them in automatic,,,,its just a lot easier than the 5 speed manual...
@angeloscity A few reasons. 1. Fuel is very expensive here and manual cars are more efficient. 2. Manual cars are cheaper to buy and maintain than autos. 3. if you pass in an auto here, you are then restricted to automatics only. I think people like the control of the clutch and we also don't travel long distances, like you do. There are more automatics than there were a few years ago though. The cops drive mostly manuals. I can't think of anything else right now...
@04smallmj ..yes we americans do drive more i think..everything here in the US is sooo spread out that taking public transport is so difficult..the stops are so far away from where u need to be that its soo not worth it to take public transport....cops here in the US all use automatics. it frees them from concentrating in the gear shifting ...and yea..manuals are cheaper and easier on the gas..but i still prefer automatics....
yep thats bristol the most laughable part is the duel carriageway that joins the m32... speed cameras and red light cameras that loom at you from every angle. if you was lost there or if you make even the slightest mistake you can find yourself with a fine and demerit points on your licence for four years its really stressful i avoid the centre of bristol completely
I certainly miss driving in Yorkshire - so much more... 'involved' than driving in Ohio. Around here we don't do curves - straight roads, 90 degree turns, and stop signs at every intersection. :-P
you should drive down Ralph Road on Horfield next to the County Cricket Ground!

Wow, driving on that one-laned street looks ridiculous. Are you American?

English are famous for being phlegmatic, and they need it to drive in such narrow streets :-)
And I'm not sure I could get used to drive on the other side.
