Look the best way for any large dog to take down a large man is if it has all four legs on the ground. I took my dog to a trainer and once when man tried to assault me my GSD pulled that 250 pound man so fast. Honestly just think how hard they can pull if they pull from the ankle Just trust me it's amazying stuff.

One ran off firing shots back - while his pal ended up in the hospital courtesy of the dog. A criminal is likely to shoot someone with a gun...but they find it hard to do so against a fast moving dog.

And finally, pitbulls cant do half the things a german shepherd is capable of doing when trained.
rottweiler is better as a territory guard dog (it's it's nature) , or as mentionned before the presa canario , for German sheppard like duties I prefer our Mechelaar (mallinois/ belgian sheppard or what does the rest of the world call it :P )
well German shepards are reealy good gaurd dogs too, Rottweilers, I am sure EVERYBODY would be a afraid of it too lol, I remember my old dog pawsie, she was a sweet heart, but when a stranger came to our property, with ouyr command, she will chase them right outta town lol , ( firgure speech) I find German shepards, Dobermans and Rotttweilers are some of the top guard dogs around :D

My GSD's "Sadie von Ilse" and "Zuese vom Stephanitiz" are trained AKC Schutzhund competitors.I must say though one of my favorite parts is the 'gaurd' cause you give them the command while the person is on the ground or standing but if they try to move the dog grabs their arm.Sadie and Zuese's pup; Black Tears is already started.

Im not compareing cane corso to the G.S.D. thats just out the que of who's the best protection breed LOL corso which means "Guardian", "Protector". so now that you know the top guard breed lets get back to pitbull vs GSD okay

and there was me thinking they were developed for hunting large game and guarding ! and the pitbull is a better dog for large game whilst the G.S.D. is a better guard dog ! so you must be really pissed lol ! dont worry your quite good at contradicting your self so it's not all bad and your very amusing lol

TheCaneCorso, your either 5 years old, or just really dumb haha, it depends how the dog is raised and treated, and hey guess what buddy, purebred german shepherds are quite more smarter than pitbulls as proven lots of times, have a stronger bite as proven, and are more quicker and agile as proven. And finally, pitbulls cant do half the things a german shepherd is capable of doing when trained.

rottweiler is better as a territory guard dog (it's it's nature) , or as mentionned before the presa canario , for German sheppard like duties I prefer our Mechelaar (mallinois/ belgian sheppard or what does the rest of the world call it :P )

well German shepards are reealy good gaurd dogs too, Rottweilers, I am sure EVERYBODY would be a afraid of it too lol, I remember my old dog pawsie, she was a sweet heart, but when a stranger came to our property, with ouyr command, she will chase them right outta town lol , ( firgure speech) I find German shepards, Dobermans and Rotttweilers are some of the top guard dogs around :D

i have about 7.5 acres and want a guard dog..i have a small jack Russell at moment but want to get a guard dog.. which would you prefer and you think will suit me and my property ???? ROTTWEILER OR GERMAN SHEPHERD .. id like to hear your opinion ... im in Australia by the way ..cheer mate.

i live in a ranch maself. id strongly recomend a german shepeher. i have 2 of them but nothin has ever gotten in the ranch. i recomend german shepherd

My GSD's "Sadie von Ilse" and "Zuese vom Stephanitiz" are trained AKC Schutzhund competitors.I must say though one of my favorite parts is the 'gaurd' cause you give them the command while the person is on the ground or standing but if they try to move the dog grabs their arm.Sadie and Zuese's pup; Black Tears is already started.

If the leash gets caught on that fence your dog will hang itself... Take off the leash when sending him over a fence.
