Why couldn't Takashi Miike just have had the actors speak in Japanese and put subtitles, occasionally I can't fully understand and the poor English ruins some scenes. The story is very interesting, but the acting and dialogue is difficult to overlook at times.

To be honest with you I agree to a degree with what your saying - its not his best . the acting in Imprint is awful. But exquisite torture scenes are Miike's speciality and well worth watching. i'm assuming you've seen Ichi and Audition. you didnt like them either?
