  • This one is coming at me from an earlier era as a young child at home. Mom would always be singing around the house, and she could sing like a bird too!! Music was always big around our place; sometimes Dad would have the guitar out, and everyone loved the musical get together's with more family & friends. This song usually always came up:

    Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Len & Anne Tufts, Nova Scotia

    Dec. 22, 2011.

  • I love Jim Reeves because he just sang from the heart - what a great loss when he was taken

  • Thnks gents,

    I Love it

  • he died in July 31st in the same year of this concert..

  • Thanks Paulo for sharing this fabulous video clip from Norwegian TV. Despite it having over 2 million views, we only just came across it - ffirst time seen singing it live; wonderful sentiment

  • This is the best music of all season.

  • I heard Micheal Buble dissing Jim Reeve he would be so lucky if he had a voice as great as Gentleman Jim

  • @kh4949 Hi. I agree with you re: Buble! In fact MOSTLY all modern solo singers tend to "copy" the great singers of old! And what makes it even worse is that their younger fans think that buble et,al., wrote/composed those songs themselves when they only reaped (stole) someone elses glory/talents!!

  • @kh4949 What did he say about Jim Reeves? Because Michael Bubble-y doesnt have half his talent!

  • det här var den första jim Reeves-låt hörde 1964. sen var jag fast i countrymusiken.

  • this was the first jim reeves-tune I ever heard. after that In was stuck.

  • Is he miming that?

  • luv u linda x x x

  • No offence but he sounds like kermit the frog at times XD

  • Romantic

  • i cant view you tube coz my user name dont work

  • this song reminds me of my grandad. hes in heaven now, but i recognise

this song from boxing days spent at his house. it being a 7" vinyl on a record player,

i can imagine this format making the song, well, quite special....the crackles etc did not matter.

  • never has there ever been a voice like this, regardless of genre.jim has always been my favourite, too bad he died so early.he still had so much to give .

  • The Biggest WOW to the songs and the fantastic singer Jim Reeves.

Thank you for sharing all this on u tube. Many years ago I bought his records, tapes and now his disks:)))

  • remind me of my beloved father............I'm nearly 40 now and this song flashback my memories of my Dad played the Jim Reeves"s records.....................

  • Lateemr. crock of shit. Jim died 3 months after this concert, dont post crap, either do some research or say nothing.

  • I have tears streaming down right now, this song remind's me of my Dad he was alway's singing this to my Mom and still does : )

  • wohoow! I'm from Oslo, too bad that I wasn't born at that time...

  • my dad's song

  • Ha! Did you see the look the guitarist, on Jim's right, gave him when he sang the wrong 1st verse? - He wasn't expecting it!......I wonder if Jim fluffed it, or whether it was deliberately shortened, and the guy hadn't been told?

  • @Tobytrim The guy was Leo Jacskon from Jim's band The Blue Boys. Yes I noticed it to that he switched or omitted some verse.

  • @fridrikur

I've made the same mistake in a gig more than once - It's nice to see the top names can do it and get away with it too- Lol!

  • ty for the trip down my dads memory lane

  • my last name is reeves and i found out from my grandma that im related to him

  • Jim Reeves war born in 1923 and he dead in 1964 when he finished this concert.

  • Love This Tune :) Was MY Granddads Funeral Song :`( xx

  • His voice has the same effect as when you drink hot chokolate a cold winterday.

  • I could say I did not like but until I meet some amazing people who just love life... I REAKON I REALLY LOVE THIS STUFF!

  • Yes - breaking news folks! CCN/BBC says there are 53 dislikes in this wonderful world of ours who have forgotten to renew the batteries in their worn-out hearing-aids!

  • @Bigpheet not to mention the hollow space between their ears

  • for linda , LUV U XXX

  • wonderful yes it is Gentleman Jim

  • It's kind of bittersweet knowing that this man is still extremely popular around the world but is virtually unknown in his own country

  • Its really nice how his fanbase aren't crazy obsessive twats and are mature with the true musical appreciation he has. They clap and cheer without screaming.

  • He died quite soon after this concert in a plane crash in Tennessee; what a tragedy at the time; Patsy Cline had died in 1963, also a plane crash; not forgetting other genres and stars like Buddy Holly, Johnny Burnette, Nat King Cole, Eddie Cochran, Edith Piaf, who died in the 1959-1965 time period, much too soon

  • Nostalgi underbart kommer ihåg när jag såg det på tv

  • how could anyone "dislike" this? His voice is beautiful. The genre might not be your cup of tea...but you "dislike" it? I'll never get that.

  • No pitch controls in these days, and true talent shone through, unlike the electorincally adjusted manufacturered "Singers" of today. How many of todays modern acts will even be remembered never mind having their music enjoyed in half a century????

  • What a melodic voice.Genius.

  • we sang this song in our wedding 18 years ago...happy to eminisce the past...he happy days of my life.

  • hey great perfomer

  • @mengwoo17

Yes, but it is from the days of mono recordings, wher only one speaker was on a radio, before Stereo recordings. You digital age, the age then must be an age of a caveman listening to music off a music device, uploaded one way or the other.

  • Absolutely flawless voice pure and unforced. Something not even Elvis or Roy Orbison always had.

  • @woodster1965 Roy Orbison had a far greater range in his voice than Jim Reeves. Please tell us all when Roy ever forced a note?

  • He opens his gob and out pour the angels! To do this live is just outstanding - what a voice!

  • Jim is my husbands favourite singer he can listen to him allday.
