I work at a Subaru dealership and one complaint i have with the wrx is the throw is too long. It feels like im driving a truck when im trying to shift. Subaru should take note from Honda and have a shifter like the Si.

5.4 seconds to 60 she had to have testing the car if it got that number. The real 0-60 is more like 4.7 ask motor trend

it can do 4.7, but the only way to do that is if you drive it hard. you have to rev it up and hold it until it starts building boost, and then let out the clutch. ive done it a few times on mine, but its not good for the car.

I have a similar 5 speed in my shitty old civic. Not that this compares to my old civic. Its a sweet little ride, but the most glaring mark is that "thank you jesus", five speed.

Interior still looks like cheap crap. Good review, Good car, not great. Hoped for more in the new iteration.

@5Qu1Z33r Motortrend and Car and Driver have got a time of 4.7 sec for the 2009 WRX sedan. However, 2011 WRX 0-60 time is 4.9 sec. I dont know why because 09 and '11 models have the same hp.

@rforracing I had Saab 9-5 Aero with similar hp numbers and it's 0-60 was 6.6. It was only 100 kg (220 lb) heavier than WRX, so i really have hard time believing that 100kg reduction = 2 seconds faster 0-60 time...

p.s. Now i've got 400 hp BMW M5 and i can't run 4.7 0-60 :)

I'd take a GTI over this. Though it has AWD, it doesn't really hold any advantage over the GTi when you're cornering, in fact, the GTi is even more accurate. And sorry, but 19 MPG for a small car is just terrible.

I'd go with the Mazdaspeed3 since is has a great engine (with 40lb-ft more torque and direct injection!), even more amazing handling and a fantastic close ratio 6-speed manual

HOWEVER (as Emmy said so), FWD just plain sucks and AWD is ... awesome!

I love both models but, living in Canada, AWD is almost necessary for our winters in my book

Great review as always. Myself, I prefer the sedan version. I owned a 2004 WRX sedan, when the time came to replace it, Subaru was only offering Hatchbacks, so I went with a different car maker. I am now the proud owner of a 2011 STI, Sedan, what a fun car.

Subaru really needs to improve the fuel economy of this model. A 6MT is a good start, 19/25 on premium with a small fuel tank is just awful

@xoquixxoqafxo Its actually one of the most fuel efficient AWD vehicles sold in the U.S. You gotta remember that AWD takes away a good amount of fuel economy. For a turbocharged AWD sedan i think it gets pretty decent fuel economy.
