I have always loved this song, ever since the first time i heard it on 100.3FM (KLRS), waayyy back in the days. Not long after, I bought my first CD...Natural States. Ha! Even before I had a CD player. Kind of my incentrive to purchase one.
I bought both of these 2 records back in about 1988 ('premium virgin vinyl' heh). I don't have the records anymore but these tunes are still part of my imagination. I saw David Lanz in Cleveland way back when he was promoting Cristifors Dream. How time has flown! I was in my 20's then...that was a different time.
This has been my favorite song of this genre for so many years. I bought the cassette and used to listen to it over and over, having to REWIND it. Something about this track is just hypnotic and it never gets old. Thank you for sharing this spark of genius!
I first saw this video in the 80s (only once ) it influenced me to where now I play the Native American flute and live where these "Desert Vision" videos were filmed. now that I'm here and see these again., my heart is recharged. Thank you.
I first heard Desert Vision in the nursery hours after I had given birth to my son in December 1989 in Fairbanks, Alaska. As soon as I was released from the hospital, going to the record store was my first stop. I played this tape for the next 3 years every night when my son would go to bed. Oh it brings back such good memories.
The songs still move just like they did almost 21 yrs ago. Thank you!!!
I'll never forget the first time I heard this song. It was when I first moved to Oregon and it was raining out. Still love this song after all these years.
Paul together you and David are the best of all that is beautiful, magnificent and joyous in Music....It would be awesome someday for the 2 of you to do something again for us all.
Muchas gracias Paul por la enorme manera de componer-tocar música... Es maravillosa!!!!!!! Mi mente se sumerge en una paz muy linda, Gracias otra vez!
I used to wake up to this or Rain Forest (I don't remember which) as my alarm was set to a locak easy listening station when I was in high school. I've loved it since. I got one of the CD's and just ordered this one.
After all the years your music still moves me.Had tapes of desert vision and natural states.Still love the nusic. You guys were way ahead of the time.Cant thank you enough.
@slowlow45 I had both tapes in high school. I think this was 1988 or '89. I bought the CD's several years ago again. These two: Desert Vision and Natural States had some of the greatest music!
My pleasure. It was wonderful music to relax to. Add to that the video tape back then it was wonderful visual and auditory stimulation. My personal favorite were the semi fast flying scenes through the clouds and fading sun. It was so beautiful.
@paulspeer1 thanks for putting this up because the last time I heard it was on the radio never saw your album and cant get it here... The D.J. played it on the last week that the show itself existed before the radio station closed.... never heard it again but because of the easy name I remembered what it was called and decided to try finding it here on the off chance something so rare might like other rare pieces of music might be here...It was twenty plus years ago that I heard this piece.
Great video. Would love to see the flight of the eagle video also!! I have the original Desert Vision VHS tape but it is no longer working well. I wonder if you can get a DVD version...
MIRACULOUSLY SOOTHING! Perfect for losing oneself in a purely solo dance with nobody around.

@MrDAVIDEO84 So true. Jan Nickman and the crew had to shoot this during springtime. They were quite fortunate to catch some good rainstorms.
