apparently this moron would rather a tired traveler falls asleep at the wheel and wipes out his family. they arent parked in anyones way, most if not all have bought supplies at walmart too. the only one not minding their own business is the idiot who filmed this. I hope you get hit by a tired truck driver and get pralyzed from the neck down so you cant make anymore stupid videos ass
What some people fail to realize is that with a slider pulled in, there is very little room to move around. If you pull in SIMPLY to sleep, that won't cause a problem. I dunno about you, but I like to take a few minutes in the morning to collect my wits and have breakfast before hitting the road. With my slider pulled in, even getting to the bathroom is a hassle. With my trailer still hitched up, I can be on the road in less than two minutes. Pull in the slider, lock the door and drive away.
Wow, some you people are very defensive. I agree it's no big deal what they do to me or you, but neither was the video! Just a small video of this guy's thoughts.
So what he can't speak his mind obviously? That's part of what America is about, if you think someone is going to ruin something for everyone it's a good idea to bring it up wtf...
We do it and only have 7 hour drive, leave that night when i get tired we pull over and sleep a walmart till it's time to check in, When we get up we go in spend over $100 in walmart so we've paid for our night sleep, so what's the big deal, go buy you a camper and try it,,
What jerk these people drive all day and all night and you say shiat. I am sure they stay were they can and sometimes crap happens on open road. I am sure if you camped out at Walmart in Canada they would be friendly.
@drakethick1 just becouse somebody puts there slides out doesn't mean there staying longer than 1 night it does not take long to move slides in and out and it does not put them in more danger to get hurt. If you are concerned that walmart might get sued than maybe you should not park your rv overnight you could get hurt to even if you keep those dangerous slides in lol.
Some peoplle may not care and they might wonder why anyone else would care but WAL-MART may care... If someone is "camping" in their parking lot and and gets hurt or hurts themselves, guess who gets sued?
Wal-Mart.
So walmart has every right to be concerned about this nonsense and those of us that might like to park an rv overnight at a walmart are worried that the selfish few will ruin this for the rest of us.
What's next? A campfire in front of the outdoor section?
What a small, pathetic, little man you must be to drag your video camera to Wal Mart to film individuals not harming anyone or anything in the least. Spend more time with your family and less time worrying about what others are doing. In other words, get a fucking life.
Walmart will allow you to park overnight but its against local ordances in many areas to sleep in a vehicle, you might not get a visit from the manager but you might get a knock from officer friendly. It is just common courtesy if someone is going to let you park for free you would try to blend in, NOT open the pop outs and start the generator. It is great that Walmart allows this but its the douchbags who make it obvious that will get local towns to enforce or pass laws preventing it.
wal mart allows this and there is nothing wrong or illegal about it. As long as the manager does not ask the people to leave then they are free to stay. Also if the people in the rv's, as long as they do not dispose of there waste illegally then there is nothing wrong with it. You are allowed to saty over night at rest areas aren't you. This is a cheap and very smart way to travel with wal marts blessing.
And them parking there affects you how? The only time that lot is used is during Black Friday. Other than that, it goes unused by all except truck drivers who HAVE to take a break. Would you rather they park on the street next to your house, blocking your driveway? Or in a high crime neighborhood?
Seriously....Why the F*ck do you care? Can't stand control freaks like you who butt their noses into others business! They are'nt hurting anyone so what the hell does it matter!
You suck. Did you know WalMart encourages Boon Docking? Do you know what that is, or don't you bother to educate before sticking your nose in other's biz?
LMAO get a life you jealous fuck. Sucks that you can't afford an RV or camper huh? BTW your little video does nothing but expose you for the sad sack douchebag you are.
You Sir are the typical busy body type that ruins it for others. Did you stop to think that maybe some of those "Drifter Types are good honest people that are down on theIr luck? That is exactly why Walmart wants them to park at their stores so they will buy some cans of beans from them.
I care because I like to park overnight at Walmart occasionally when a late night check-in isn't possible at a campground. People like this that set up generators are abusing the policy will be the ones to blame when they do away with overnight parking. A lot of towns with walmarts are not allowing any walmart overnight parking because it brings the "drifters" in. Its a shame that senseless idiots ruin conveniences like this because they are too cheap to get a site. Note the $1000 generator lol
I watched this video twice and I still can't understand what this guy is objecting to. There's tons of available parking & the vans seem well away from the main entrance. So what's the problem?
All we normally need is to replentish (shop at WalMart), take a quick nap, shower, and hit the freeway; and yes, sometimes we need or want to run our generator for a while. Live with it. You don't live at WalMart, do you?
Especially with larger tows and rigs people don' t want to drive 30 or more miles off route of their destination to a unknow campground in a remote area (risking damage to the unit in narrow, hilly, and dense wooded areas) and spend time and money to set up to get a few hours sleep and perhaps a shower before comensing to desired destination. ....
Btw, slides need to go out as a rule to access needed areas, even if you stop to nap or shop refridgeration, cupboards, closets, etc., are often accesible only by extending slides......
If it's WalMart's policy to allow overnight (or even a few overnight) camping, then who are you to complain. Moreover, clearly you don't have a grasp on the modern camping/rv experience, as is with many who don't acutally venture out. About Quebec. Wise up. We were once New France. Quebeco's are our heritage and our blood.
"Will this put the use of Wal Marts in jeopardy for the rest of us?" - I don't see "the rest of you" anywhere on the parking lot...you need to get a life....
How do you know "they're set up for a while"? You obviously don't own an RV or camper. If you did, you would know that it takes less than 5 minutes to go from that "set up for a while" state to ready to drive away. Slides go in and out in seconds. Generators stow away in seconds also. If walmart doesn't care... why would you?
"Big offenders"... who or what are they offending exactly? Walmart welcomes all RVers and campers with open arms for a reason. We spend lots of money with them.
how is it camping? everytime im at a lot i will put my slide out. and run my generator if i need to. mabey if they were sitting around a fire drinking beer you could call it camping.
It's private property, owned by Wal-Mart, open invitations to campers to park in their lots everywhere. Good business move and helps folks who cannot find campgrounds or can't get into full ones. As long as campers clean up and not bother anyone, it seems like it will continue. They sell stuff to the campers and the campers get a well lit, flat, clean area to park. As long as folks don't abuse the invite and be responsible, no harm in it.
Six years ago I was conserned that big bad truckers would run me out of truck stops if I tried to park over night with the slideouts out. So I got A 29ft travel trailer with no slides. I never thought that Walmart shoppers would have A problem????
And they spend money in Walmart, and the spaces are on the outter skirts of the parking lot that would otherwise go unused most of the time. Thank You Walmart for allowing travelers a place to overnight. Who cares as long as they don't litter and are polite and don't interfere with business. In many areas you can not overnight at Walmart, not because of Walmart but due to city Ordinances.
The guy who made this video has some sort of point he is trying to get across, I am unsure if he is just letting people know he is a moron because the lot is obviously not packed full of customers, or is he just a moron that needs a life?
The guy who made this video has some sort of point he is trying to get across, I am unsure if he is just letting people know he is a moron because the lot is obviously not packed full of customers, or is he just a moron that needs a life?
As a (part-time) RVer and a Wal-Mart shopper, I can fully understand both sides (space). I've personally never "camped" at a Wal-Mart. However, I did once take a 4-hour nap in my RV in the parking lot after spending $100.00 inside the store on food/supplies. Some stores allow it (overnight) and some don't. I'm not sure what you mean by "use of Wal Marts for the rest of us?" I am an American but why does it matter if they are from Quebec? As long as they are here legally. An RV is still an RV.
Near my place there are 4-5 RV's in the Canadian Tire parking lot. Its a really smart thing to do and The stores don't mind at all. Same reason other people stated, you don't think people aren't going to spend lots of money in there. Plus there not stealing water or hydro.
Obiviously you don't know anything about marketing. I'm sure the Director of Marketing from Walmart welcomes RV's and 18 wheelers on their lot, as long as they are out of other's way. I'm sure these people goes into walmart and spends more money than you do. Why do you think there are convinence stores, car washes and restaurants in gas stations? Get a life dude...
Wally was an RV'er himself. So there actually is an organizational provision for staying over night at Wal Mart. I notice there were plenty of spaces so I doubt if there was an over crowding problem if that's your beef.
#1- the definition of freedom is ignoring and accepting others behavior you dont like or understand or agree with ! 2- if you dont like freedom i suggest you move instead fu**ing it up for rest of us 3- wal mart INTENTIONALY allows / provides sanctuary safe zone for rv campers becaquse the police abuse harassment on them so bad in most north america, wal mart allows this at ALL stores to protect the campers from police abuses you are a prick, hope you enjoy your miserable life f***in up world
? get fucked both you hosers. I live in upstate NY and we have a WM 20 miles south of the border here. I see all kinds of people that seem for the most part in transit. Lots from quebec, and a few locals also, I personally think 1-2 nights max. And it really brings in revenue, state and local, not that Im tax happy either.
Hi. I have been researching RVs for awhile and it is known by RVers that most WalMarts allow overnight camping in their lots; they are generally allowed on the outer edges of the always huge lot, as long as they are not keeping other shoppers from parking. I knew a lady OTR trucker who also used to spend the night at WM, since it was a safer, less sleazy atmosphere than a truckstop. Either way, it is the manager's call, and WMs in general allow it.
I want to take a moment to thank all the Wal Marts that open their arms to all campers no matter what side of the border their from. I took the time to go meet a few of these campers your talking about and found them to be good people. Some down on their luck some not. But still good people just the same. I own a house and a Class A. I'm having hard times too and it gives me great peace of mind to know that there are places in this country, like Wal Mart, and others that are willing to care. I
U are a fucking fagget wal mart fucking sucks when i am travelling in my rv i use wal mart for camping for a night also who gives a fuck they have cameras and are safe that is why people choose wal mart if u dident know the guy who invented wal mart was a rv er what are these people doing to u u need to mind ur own business and do something with your life instead of posting pwoples liscense plates on youtube fuck walmart fucking non union scab rats
@86yukon Nice mouth asshole,We have to pay for our Taxes to live here, you have no right to Camp at Wal-mart and it should be used for Cars not Campers to camp overnight,Ever heard of Good Sam Club or KOA and ever heard of Yogi Bear Campground, theses decent people paid for a Campground and live a lot better not a Cheap idoits like you.It looks stupid seeing RV's camping in St.Augustine, when they have a no-RV overnight and they gave up,I wonder why.
@RatDaddy3 i have about 4 memberships for camping discounts but when i am going on a vacation and stop driving around midnight wal mart is a good safe place to go now i understand that if somebody pulls into a walmart parking and decides to stay 2 nights they should get a ticket but for one night and leave in the morning that is alright . now u said it looks stupid that people stay in their rv at wal mart that is your own opinion and it don't matter one bit u are not a president
@RatDaddy3 who gave u the power to tell people were they can stay and do with their lives now u said u pay taxes to live their everybody pays taxes that is part of being a american u don't like it get the fuck out of here and u really have guts to be taken a video of these people and posting their liscense plates on youtube if u didn't know we are in some bad economic times right now maybe these people lost their houses and have no were else to go u still haven't told me how this is harming u
@RatDaddy3 why is your name rat daddy are u a non union rat does not surprise me with the way u are acting u should get a life dude maybe go buy yourself a rv and i bet u stay a night at a wal mart before u make your 2 payment on the rv but since u are not a camper u will never know or see why wal mart is a good place to get a goodnights rest then get back on the road stick to your day job dude cause this spying on campers at wal mart is not paying off for u fucking prick
@TheOracleGreen why care? probably because doing this will end up causing Walmart to gradually ban all types of free overnight parking in their lots. The more people that set up shops like these just means more: trash, dumped water, kids running around, etc. treating it like a campground rather than just a quick & free overnight parking. Walmart can get sued for negligence if someone gets hurt, hit by a car, etc. while camping w/Walmart's blessings. Vandwellers crack down next.
Your video is a wonderful idea! Parking in the USA may not be "serious business" but taking advantage of a host and ruining a good thing for everyone is!
It sadens me as a Canadian (Ontario) to see that so many RVers from Quebec seem to be rude and taking advantage of both the Walmart and gas stations that extend the privilege to all of us.
I think videos like this, and the rest of us taking a stand and speaking out, may be the only way we don't all lose.
Better than in front of your house!

So why do you care? Live and let live!
