Interesting thought, but is it me, or have I read some where, where they can't cure viruses either, which will mean that then they will have to treat you, for a long time (think HIV) with drugs to control the virus?????

Cancer is easier to cure since the cell that makes the disease has the same signature all the time while viruses dont.They always change.

We all have cancer cells in our system since fetus stage just that the cancer cells dont activate unless something big happens in our system.

Problem with cancer is that its part of our system and the anti bodies doesnt know how to fight it,otherwise it would not also fight against cancer but so to the rest of the cells so you would end up dead anyway.

it wont be that bad if this mutates and attack normal tissue. for the patient yes, but not for the spiecies.

think of cars.. lets say they are designing this to be a "sports car".. every time you make it more "sport car"ish, it gets worse in the mud and offroad compettitions.

they are making it target cancer receptors, and giving it more genes, thus making it less resource efficient.

These are strains which exist in the wild anyway, or else their effect on cancer wouldn't be known. It is also more than likely that any virus used in people would remain easily killable by the immune system, as is the case with the wild strains, although some unpleasant side effects could possibly be removed. One can also hope that the mechanism used to target cancer cells with viri was better understood with further research, giving us more control rather than less.

Well the idea is that we are making the viruses and controlling the spread. So mutations is going to be at a minimal. Most viruses mutate when they spread from host to host. But what they will do is only infect one host and not allow them to spread and mutate. The clinical trials have already shown that the virus in name has not mutated in host. Also when you are doing genetic engineering can make the virus mutate less.

so as i can guess before watching that they will inject virus that are not too damaging to your body and is curable into your body and wait for a while when tumor is down they inject you with the curing medicine to kill the virus and walla there you go less tumor or no cancer

The only thing is that a virus can't be killed as viruses are not alive. The body would have to fight it off itself when you were done. It would be similar to any cold, in that the antibodies would eventually destroy the structure of the virus. They might be able to develop an antibody that would destroy it though.
