@DrummerGrrrl Thanks :) With regards to your question, you'll need a midi to usb cable, the midi end goes in the module brain the usb to the computer. Then you open up a program like Ableton live and load the VSTi drums, those drums will then be triggered by the midi from the Yamaha. I hope that makes sense lol
Good sounding demo. I use AD on most of my drum covers on YT even though I own others like Superior, Steven Slate, Ocean Way, Native Instruments Abbey Rd 60s drums & Infinite Player , BFD2. AD responds well.
that thing u do at around 2:00, the triplet with the bassdrum, I do that all the time when im screwing around on my drums! although i can't do it as fast >.>
Hello ! Amazing video dude ! I have a question, please, could you answer to it ? I'm very disapointed because I have the same e-drums as you, Yamaha dtxplorer and this software, but, when I plugged with MIDI to my computer, sounds are not rights, snare is toms, etc... how did you do the drum map ? Thanks in advance for your answer !
@slipindo Hey, thanks, the solution is very simple, all you need to do is go to the XLN Audio website (the company who makes Addictive Drums) and download the Adrenalin 1.5 update this update is FREE and adds the ability to map your drums, it even includes preset maps for all major e-drums, including the yamaha dtxplorer.
The brain has a midi out so you just need a midi cable. The only problem with this kit is that the midi notes sent to the output are pre-programmed and you can't change them on the brain so you might need to do some midi routing in order to get vst instruments working correctly. At least I had to do that to use EZdrummer .
you will need an audio interface that has ASIO drivers so you can get the latency down as low as possible. Stay away from USB sound cards, I'd recommend firewire. Check out MOTU, Presonus, M-Audio or TC Electronics... they all sell good quality ASIO audio interfaces.
i have the exact same Sony headphones :D they're awesome!

@ditoarch06 I can't remember actually, I think it's been taken down. It stopped working for me anyway, damn shame, I loved that add on.

@kerodean so you're not using addicive drums anymore. it sounds awsome anyway.. :(

im just wondering if you can just plug this into say like a laptop with a midi cable or do you need to buy some hardware?

@JackHargreave im sorry for the 2 year later reply but you can either get a soundcard which supports midi or a midi-usb adapter

Yeah, Addictive Drums is a proprietary software. However there are other avenues of download if you search around.

You got that by MIDI?
Deluxeta 2 years ago
Yeah. It's triggered by midi the sounds are a VSTi instrument plugin
kerodean 2 years ago
What program do you need and what did you use to midi thru the PC?
Deluxeta 2 years ago
just google "addictive drums" (cant post links in youtube)
I have a midi cable going from my dtxplorer into my midi keyboard that goes into the pc via usb

when you sampled the kick, the crash was still going. You have to wait until theres silence to do individual hits. (or do the cymbals last)
Thanks for the post.

the cymbals last
