Please help I still cant get it and i did everything i could but instant dvd recorder and pinnacle studios say there is no valid input signal and windows movie maker keeps saying that the dazzle is already in use and i cant record with it even though everything is off that uses the dazzle.

@99reierson Just plug a USB microphone into your laptop and while in the Pinnacle Studio software, change the Audio Recording Settings to your audio device. Hope this helped :)

Why do you need the coupler?

@FalconFetus8 because the splitter is 2 female -> male.  the coupler, made up of 2 female ports, allows the male to plug in, essentially converting the male to female

I didn't watch the whole video because I know where you were going with this I did this setup also, but my only problem is I wanted it to Record through Dazzle and Play in HD on my T.V. I would end up spending a bit so i ended buying an HD PVR

@timsvile95 As far as I know, PS1,PS2, & PS3 AV/Cables are all interchangeable (I had all three systems at one point and only had one set of cables f.y.i.) For your problem, I would suggest testing the cables that have the issue with your PS3 on another system; either a PS1, PS2, or PS3. And if that cable works for any of those other systems, I would then suggest that you borrow a friend's PS3 cables and test them on your PS3 system in order to test if your PS3 is having hardware problems.

What I do is I have three y splitters. I connect the ps3 rca's to the one of each splitter and a seperatr RCA cable to the other. Run the RCA to the dazzle and the dazzle to the computer. No need for a second RCA!

so wouldnt this method work for anything needed for audio output? i have a stereo that was hooked to my old tv and i got a new plasma and it dsnt have audio out....the sound is not great w/ cable on regular rca but any hdmi connections like my ps3 sound good through the tv....so just wondering if i could use this method for my stereo as an output?

@IndowPindow Oh wow I apologize for responding to this so late, but I will answer it even under the assumption that you've already received an answer. It would work because the the DVI would be the output to the TV and would not affect recording processes with the Dazzle, because it is not at all connected to it since it is just the other pathway of the split A/V signals going "out".

@IndowPindow For example, you can record the Game System or what ever device you have with my set-up and not have to be hooked up to the TV in anyway, because the Laptop and Dazzle are picking up only one of the A/V signals being sent from the Game System or Device.

Oh, I just plug that one "RCA Cable" (AV Cables) into the "AV in" on the TV. So just into the "Yellow, White, and Red".

Could you use the Scart adapter that came with the PS3 instead of the Audio/Video Coupler? And then you could just connect the 3 splitters into the correct inputs on the Scart Adapter.?
