The main reason we keep cats and dogs as pets is because they have been domesticated for a long time and fear humans. Question, do you have to tell the operator your address when you call 911 through telephone line in the States? In the movies, I notice the first thing they do is state their address. In my country, your caller ID includes your address if you call 911 emergency service.

@myself1904 We don't all have chimps as pets! The majority of of us think it's a really stupid idea to make a "pet" out of a wild animal sadly zoos are full and there are very santuaries making removal of the animals nearly impossible.

um...the overwhelming majority of us don't have exotic animals as pets. There's probably only a few hundred privately owned chimps in all the 50 states combined. So maybe about .000001% of us own chimps.
