It's sickening how much Charlie Rose gushes over him. Rose (and Polanski) neglect to mention that, rather than being merely accused, Polanski indeed pled guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year old. He fled the US to avoid being sentenced. And he got a standing O at the Oscars. Classy.
Samantha Geimer n'ee Gailey, was left alone with Polanski as a mother/daughter 'honey trap extortion con', then when he refused to be extorted, Miss Samantha's mother filed charges against him, but proper blood tests to prove drug/alcohol use, and samples taken to prove Polanski had any form of sexual-intercourse with Miss Samamtha never were taken; therefor the charges are 'hearsay', and the case should've been thrown out of court.
Polanski was pressured into a false confession by extortionists, which was easy as he's under the extreme grief-process because 8-years before, his pregnant wife was brutally murdered; that counts as hard-ship, and duress.
This case needs to be re-opened/re-tried based on that, and the fact the accuser's blood wasn't tested/entered into evidence in 1978, and dna testing didn't start until 1983.
That makes no sense at all. If somebody was trying to extort from him, he could've easily gone to the police with that information and cleared his name. He had good lawyers. They wouldn't have advised him to plead guilty if the evidence against him hadn't been strong. Moreover, to retry the case he'd need to come back to the States (which he's clearly scared of doing). Why don't you just admit that you love his movies and don't really care whether or not he raped a 13-year-old girl?

I always liked the c.r show, but I have to agree w/ you on this comepletely.
It was ridiculous for him to focus so heavily on these things and as common as always w/polanski.
Far more interesting would have been to even just hear a list of favorite films from roman.
And certainly more on filmaking, since that is what he does...

As far as the 13-year-old girl he raped is concerned, it doesn't come down to whatever the press said or didn't say. The fact remains that he himself pled guilty and fled the USA. What's more, he didn't do his time at all. He hightailed it out of the States. What an evasive sociopath he is.

Seriously, I just finished watching it. I would have liked to hear more about Polanski's ideas on film making and less of Rose trying to manipulate him into revealing his personal life. It really shows that Rose is sometimes just an asshole with an agenda, trying to come off as being "sensitive."

It's sickening how much Charlie Rose gushes over him. Rose (and Polanski) neglect to mention that, rather than being merely accused, Polanski indeed pled guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year old. He fled the US to avoid being sentenced. And he got a standing O at the Oscars. Classy.

Samantha Geimer n'ee Gailey, was left alone with Polanski as a mother/daughter 'honey trap extortion con', then when he refused to be extorted, Miss Samantha's mother filed charges against him, but proper blood tests to prove drug/alcohol use, and samples taken to prove Polanski had any form of sexual-intercourse with Miss Samamtha never were taken; therefor the charges are 'hearsay', and the case should've been thrown out of court.

Polanski was pressured into a false confession by extortionists, which was easy as he's under the extreme grief-process because 8-years before, his pregnant wife was brutally murdered; that counts as hard-ship, and duress.
This case needs to be re-opened/re-tried based on that, and the fact the accuser's blood wasn't tested/entered into evidence in 1978, and dna testing didn't start until 1983.

That makes no sense at all. If somebody was trying to extort from him, he could've easily gone to the police with that information and cleared his name. He had good lawyers. They wouldn't have advised him to plead guilty if the evidence against him hadn't been strong. Moreover, to retry the case he'd need to come back to the States (which he's clearly scared of doing). Why don't you just admit that you love his movies and don't really care whether or not he raped a 13-year-old girl?

The socially acceptable religions force confessions, because they are greedy children, and to avoid collecting proper evidence, as the socially acceptable religions prefer lynchings, and witch-burnings to proper civil trial. haha he never regretted having sex with 13 or 15 yr olds when he was like over 40 once or never even acknowledged it as a mistake or anything, and quickly changed the subject.
