@SakuraMaxx he totally should 'cause I want to play touhou game on something other than the for once or maybe a fan should make a touhou indie game because ZUN it's really hard to tell if he would ever do that or not
i don't think so. we can program in our own "achievements" (similar to mega man 9's built-in "challenges") but we are not allowed to use the term "achievement" as they do not append to your gamerscore. same thing applies with "leaderboards".
The name change is good; I argued about this on the forums ad nauseum. The price changes were needed and they reflect the quality and lack of achievements / leaderboards well. The auto-updates for bug fixes is great! The XNA framework & integration with the Xbox 360 is an amazing opportunity.
Skwug looks pretty cool! I had hopes for Crescendo Symphony, but the game doesn't change; it's just one level repeated, and the lack of auto-fire and powerups (and content) ruins it. It has potential.
you both didn't get by the first loop in crescendo symphony?! that scares me with duality zf! lol! and it loops, the same game loops over and over. if you got to the boss, you saw it all. please someone correct me if i am wrong, but once it went to "loop 2" i just quit.
for what it's worth, i beat crescendo's first loop first time. i'd love to hear how everyone else did. i'm a shmup fan, and as a developer it's easy to forget a lot of gamers buying your game are not as big of a fan as yourself.
Well, at least we have difficulty levels for this kind of thing. And people won't be guessing where our hit box is; it's the middle of the ship. I'm sure we're going to learn something in our first batch of reviews for Duality ZF.
I'm hoping -- and our beta testing indicates this -- that we'll get the Skwug effect of "That's impossible! No wait, I just pulled it off!" It's a great feeling. It makes me want to try Skwug right now.
I agree about wanting to see more Japanese Indie games on there, but this first outing was just way too repetitive, plus it could've use some more enemies, better animation and, like you said, power-ups so that you feel like you're progressing.
great video, planning on any new ones?? keep it up if so, awesome

so does that mean it's possible for games like miner dug deep to possibly get some updates?

Hey Nick, during the Skwug review you mentioned achievements? Does that mean that indie games now support achievements?

The new update is awesome, the next thing should be expansion packs, it would be great to be able to add new levels to some games.
Great first part, on to part 2.

Great episode, probably the best yet. It seems like I say that every week. Hopefully you can keep that up!

It's worth noting that the 50MB cap was also in place for the 200 point games under the previous pricing system. It's nothing new.

Ha ha, should be fun stuff. I love the poor translations; they are good for a laugh, and it's a nice reminder that they come from afar.
