Phil X looks out of place. I mean he is usually so full of energy that it's odd to see him this held back. On another note, Bon Jovi sounds a bit off, he doesn't even sound like himself. I guess that's what happens when your tired and bored after so many years. He should take a page from PX. Phill is 44 and has the energy of a crazed teen.

This song, and the band's performance in general, is just lost without Richie. It feels like I'm watching a totally different and much less exciting band. That's actually because, in reality, I am. Phil X and Bobby Bandiera are not part of this band. The band really is Richie and Jon. They are 45% each, and make up 90% together. Dave and Tico and Hugh share the remaining 10%. So essentially it's a 55% Bon Jovi, 45% non-Bon Jovi performance. So glad Richie is back now. But get rid of Bandiera.

Infact at the O2 I had no idea he even existed and I was genuinely shocked to find out that he was doing some of what must have been Richie's work originally. I don't know how I missed this, but it just shows how subtle it must have been. I'm not your 'active' Jovi fan - I don't go on forums etc. Maybe that's why. All I know is for me there is no need for an extra guitarist - Led Zeppelin only had 1, so Jovi only need 1 in my opinion.

The band stands by that decision and Phil, an accomplished guitarist in his own right, stepped in on incredibly short notice to help the band out... and did an admirable job. This "asshole", as you so eloquently put it, replaced Rik Emmett in Triumph and is a FIRST CALL session guitarist, meaning he's the first guy someone calls while recording an album when they need a guitarist, making him a perfect temp to fill in until Sambora's return.

This just goes to show, Richie is arguably the greatest guitarist in the world. The emotion, and drive he brings to the table every concert is second to none. And Right here...... You what is missing, The electric feeling you feel when he slaps on that ESP/LTD SA-2. And the "LET'S GO!!!" It's just totally gets you rigourously ready for more - Lasty the tone of Richie's voice... "I've been everywhere, AND I'M STANDIN' TALL..." Simply amazing.

I was concerned of how they would do this without Richie, Phil did a ok job, not Richie by any means. Didn't have the same emotion without Richie,I was also glad they didn't do the guitar raising at end because that is something special just for Jon and Richie and would not have been the same. Nice Phil stepped in at short notice but I think Bobby should do lead, he is in the band regualarlly and interacts with Jon enough to carry himself. Miss Richie so much and look forward to his return.
