The 1970s was a great decade for perfume ads. In the last decade, I got sentimental over my childhood, and I found Jontue in the drugstores, which is now discontinued. The other great perfume ad was Chanel No. 5, and Catherine Deneuve was a memorable pitchwoman. All it takes are silky voices and the word "sensual," and I would grab the perfumes. The ads for Chanel and Jontue provided all that. I couldn't afford Chanel, but I sure lucked out on Jontue.
Mesmerizing music which I have always remembered from when the commercial ran on TV in the late 70's. I have often played it in my mind over the years. Thanks for uploading this - I only wish I knew where that music came from.....
Love this commercial...I thought I remembered a scene in which the lady runs down some stairs...outside stairs between whitewashed buildings...like an old Spanish town. Is that the 1970s ad? Please post if anyone finds it, thanks!
I am guessing the music was composed specifically for this commercial? It obviously had a big budget. It looks like it was filmed in Europe, and I imagine a shoot like this takes a full week at the very least.
This was my favorite perfume when I was in high school in the early 80's! I remember these commercials and that song. I just got nostalgic and bought a bottle of this 25 years after my last one.
This is one of the great things about YouTube, where else would we see this? That few seconds of simple melody made an impression on me too...now if I could find the old Six Flags Over Texas commercial (Six Flags is what you wish the world could be...") any leads appreciated...
Another classic ad from the 70's,one of my personal favorites, love the background music, very lush and haunting. There is actually a couple versions of this ad,I have the same one as above, but the ending is slightly different, with a shot of the man and woman on a boat in the sunset, and some of the other shots are slightly different,I actually like my version better,I may post it soon.Either way,one of the best "70s" ads ever.
what an old classic...I love old stories

Love this commercial. They just don't make them like this anymore. I wonder if anyone ever found out about the music and where it came from.

does the theme of this commercial actually exist independently or was it a mere beautiful jingle?

I agree with kookychick. I thought there was a pretty little song. Must keep searching.

The opposite of Charlie. This was actually a better smelling fragrance as well!

This LOOKS like it could have been one of Ridley Scott's commercials.
