I absolutely love it, though sadly, I keep catching up with it and have to wait for so long to see what happens next. So I find myself dropping it for like a year, reading through the whole thing again and then hopping I get about 30 chapters farther than last time xD

One of the things that make Gantz a great manga/anime its it "realistic" graphics, i wouldn't called it pornography by its nudity parts, or "explicit carnage" by its Gore scenes, Because Gantz isn't completely about that, the explicit graphics is just part of its great, original and marvelous style.

@bloodrednite The manga is always better because when they make an anime from a manga thatisnt finished, the anime quickly catches up to the manga and then they decide to continue anyway, thus the plot splits into two. The manga's plot is always better

I liked this OP very much, but GantZ anime sucks badly. It look like the animations were made by a 5 year old. I really recommend you to read the manga. Way more complete and the art is awesome. So awesomely well made that while you read you dream the actions into perfection.

Ever since they started adding random stuff like reviving people, getting new guns, those modified suits, the mass Gantz production, that German guy who's supposedly God, the whole end of the world deal.. it got so miserably poor in plot terms. I think the manga should've ended exactly like the anime did, except maybe for the unclear ending.

@LorDestinY I completely agree. The anime doesn't do the manga justice, it's so twisted and brutal. These first missions are barely a prologue for all the action happening later. The relationships and conflicts between the characters are also deepened and made me actually like Kurono, who's an asshole at the beginning.

I heard about it yeah, I've never properly picked up a manga series and read all the way through it but if there's one I'll ever want to read, it'd be Gantz. I worry that the lack of voice-acting, music and the visual impact of the animation makes it less interesting for me though, the animes I've enjoyed so far were so good I haven't read anything like a book or comic for a veeeeeeeeeeery long time because of them. :O

@Stonezorz I completely understand your situation. Animes for the most part are better than manga and give a much better feel for a series. But if you allow it manga can be equal to the anime or even surpass it. I found it helps to listen to music from the anime while reading the manga. Songs you feel go well with the series are good too. Personally I like to listen to "Session" by Linkin Park it has the right right amount of cool and creepy. I hope you'll try the Gantz manga! =D

Battle Royal is a manga that isn't really a mind fuck but shows you how your whole life can change in an instant. (This one is actually really disturbing in terms of gore and sexual content.)
