@DearestBecky Some things like this I searched the internet for. My idea for an apple grinder takes a stack of saw blades, a welder, a bunch of stainless steel, pulleys and a big motor. My brother can get me the saw blades for free but not fast enough to make a stack of them.
@TheMinisterofDefence It sure wasn't when I was using my hand to push the apples in. That will sure get your attention when the hammers start working and making their noise.
It was mounted above the press then so I wouldn't have been able to get my hand in it. Once I started using the tub I cut the dowel.
I love drinking cider and keep meaning to make some, my father in law does it , i think i will take the plunge soon , thanks for sharing this very interesting video : )
@greggfla Of course you probably wouldn't want to scrounge the disposal out of the garbage but it is a clever repurposing.
I'm working on something you'll probably appreciate even more. It's a complete repurposing I picked up off the net. When I finish the video I'll send it to you to make sure you get it.
@golfernky I don't know if I'd go that far, but it works. If I could scrounge up about 4" width worth of saw blades I'd make a different one that had more course of a grind.
@maddiepost1 The idea came from orchard forums, I don't lay claim to it. Although I would like to take away as much profit as I can from a guy who's selling plans to make what is available for free on the internet. Mainly because he spams his book on the forum where I got the idea.
I'd like to block that guy from making comments but YT won't allow it :)
That's very handy indeed. :)

@TheWestAussie There are other ways to build your own but this seems to be the cheapest and it's pretty much already made.

Wow Mike how cool!!! Lots easier than DC's hand grinder. Hugs!

@imperceptibleme Hand grinding was never in my plans. Whatever I made it was going to be motorized.

That looks like a nifty idea. You are very smart coming up with ways of saving money and eating healthy. Very self sufficient.
