Whats the point to argue about the history ? Its the past so nothing you can do about it . Stalin did it not Russians . Stalin wasnt russian , he shot most of his family and 10million russians . And now poles want russians to apologize for that maniacs crimes against every one ?! Thats why there is allot of sparks here . So this will never end . Russia should admit that Stalin did it . Not apologize .

The point about the past is that it builts the future and what kind of future we can have with Moscow if it claims its occupation was a.... "liberation"? I don`t care for any apologises, compensations or special treatment, we don`t demand it from Germany either, but the difference is Germans know what is right and what is wrong.
@2012ageoflight We must remember here that although Stalin was not ethnically Russian (he was Georgian), most scholars of Eastern Europe (especially those who study Russian History) and East-Central Europe would state that Stalin was one of greatest Russian nationalists (not necessarily in a good way) in the 20th century.
@2012ageoflight As well, this debate was with scholars, not political commentators like they often do in the United States. I know one of them quite well and is currently my university supervisor, and these individuals are very knowledgeable in not only their own fields but also other areas of study.
