@whosbluegrass light weight would be the 4th gen stangs and camaros, the 5th gens arnt light they weigh 3,800+ lbs compared to classics thats more :/ the 1970 challenger weighed 3,600 lbs and the 69 camaro weighed 3,700... so camaro only jumped 100 lbs in 40 years but challenger jumped 550 lbs? thats quite a bit man. I love both but the Challengers weight and extra sticker price for no extra performance is a deal killer...

@braveheart4lif31 Dodge had to work with the platform they had avaliable. Remember at the time they produced the Challenger they where in bankruptcy. The Cuda is supposed to replace the Challenger end of next year which will be on a smaller platform (3300-3400lbs is estimated stock)

@braveheart4lif31 Well its hard to do so because of the requirements by the government (which should have no dealings with automakers or corporations but thats another conversation). So really the only way to go lighter is get smaller and lighter more expensive materials.
