And the mound was higher in elevation back then too so it could help the pitchers arm stay healthy for the long season and cause less wear and tear. But then in 2002, I think Selig made the rules so that there's like 10 home runs per game minimum: Cut the mound size down, allow players to take steroids and pretend you don't know(McGuire, Arod, Palmeiro), and make the strike zone a tea cup

Man Wood had it going on before he jacked his arm up. I feel so lucky to have seen that Wood/Prior tandem cuz any fan knows it wasnt around long.
