  • What a brave little boy and awesome parents!

  • Thank you for posting this! It has giving my 8 year old more courage on her site change days! Also, thanks to your video- Ive ordered the adhesive tape as hers always comes loose before site change day. Now if I can just learn how to put the tape on correctly Ill be set!!!

  • cute! does he feel anything???

  • i us that site to and why does he have the extra tape i don't need it and im 13 teen

  • @ianni1962 We used to use extra IV3000 over the site to make sure they would not fall off. We don't used it anymore though and don't have problems too often.

  • how much it that my son is also diabetic but we live here in the philippines and i do nnot know if that pump is available here, tnx

  • how many days to change it tnx

  • @merielbert We change it every 3 days.

  • OMG. I just have to say that I feel like such a wuss. I have been scared to death knowing that my Ping was coming with this type set. I've always inserted mine manually and was freaked about how fast it went in. If he can make it through without even as much as a wince, then I should be able to. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • @SugabeticDotCom I am glad his video might help you! :)

  • does the docter pick ur infusion set or do u!!!!

  • @01crossfade We picked the kind we wanted to use, that works with the pump.

  • @tripley05 ok

  • @tripley05 no the green thing do u pick witch one you want not the color

  • ok i have a q...........do u pick ur own things that green thing at the begining of ur vid...pleez talk to me when ya see dis...thnx

  • @01crossfade

I assume the "green thing" you are referring to is the Animas Inset infusion set. Yes, we chose green. They have a few color choices, blue, gray, pink, green, and they used to have clear I believe.

  • @tripley05 no do u get to pick ur own not color

  • Oh my, he's so brave! Didn't complain at all! I really admire him. I admire you, as parents.

I remember when I got diagnosed (i was 7), and my parents was so sad all the time. And, I didn't want any one else except for the nurse to give me insulin.

  • This video made me cry so badly. Im type one diabetic of 10 years. Looking at that small child have to do this and the parents my goodness so strong. It really made me think about how my parents must have felt when i got diagnosed.

  • I really admire him for being so brave.

  • Thanks. I admire him too, everyday. :)

  • Tough:/ My dad got type 1 a few years after I got it. It's a strange thing but at least this way he'll be really independent with it when he's older.

  • Do either of you have diabetes or does it run in the family?

  • Nope. He is the first one we know of in the family. :(

  • Being a juvenile diabetic myself (diagnosed at age 7 and now I'm 18) I thought that was tough, but I really applaud you guys:)

  • Thanks. :) We do what we have to do.

  • We LOVE the Ping. :) I love having a remote so I don't have to catch my toddler to give him his insulin. The only time I actually need to see the pump is for site changes or temp. basals. We also love the small basal increments.

  • how do u guys like the ping??

  • We actually don't mind doing the site changes, or the tubing. We thought about the Pod, but if the remote breaks, there is no way to access the pump. We also need the IOB feature and the small basal increments of the Animas.

  • it is all in one my friends little sister who is 3 months old does not cry at all when the canula goes in email me via youtube for more info please it will make your life so much easier it did for me and friends little sis

  • would no tubing no rewinding no manuel insertion sound 1000% better yeah i think you really need to ditch animas and switch to the omnipod it has no tubing it is so much cheaper and it sticks perfect every time it automaticaly inserts and no need to have the pump remote on him mom or dad can carry it.

  • Yes, he is young. He was diagnosed at age 18 months (1 1/2 years).

  • hes young to have diabetes

  • Sometimes we pre-bolus the sucker before the site change, with a meal. Sometimes, if we are not sure he will finish it, we bolus afterwards. This does create some highs occasionally, but with an unpredictable toddler, we do our best. :)

  • How can he eat a lolly pop without bolusing first?

  • He has the Animas Ping.
