  • You guys don't know what you're talking about. Akido is real! I'm a 5th Dan and I've taken down 8 guys and 6 girls in the last 3 years. When used properly, it is a very effective defensive system. And I'm not the biggest guy either.

  • "JEDI FIGHTING STYLE" by Luke Skywalker!

  • i did aikido for abt 3yrs...how effective is it? idk..neva had2 use it..if i do end up in a confrontation i wil probably fall bak on the training did in judo/tkd...at the very least i can say is that aikido is certainly not 1of the easier MA..if that makes sense..&no doubt it is a very complex art..nothing u can really apply after a few months of training...unlike something like karate..u learn a punch or a kick & u can apply it shortly after

  • ESTO ES UN CIRCO!!

  • The reason they always roll is so they dont hurt themselves, if they didnt roll they would breack their rist or arm. Derp.

  • I'm going to comment on this like I know everything about Aikido. Its a fake sport, this isn't real, its not practical. So on and so on

  • It looks more like real combat sambo

  • in every aikido video theres a stupid ass talking shit about the MA.or saying that why is not taken to mma, aikido is a defensive martial art...it doesnt have much submissions moves and the grappling game is just to brake bones..mma is a competition where u shouldnt brake nobodys bones, aikido is basically to leave your opponent out of combat o kill him, aikido doesnt have much attacks because is defensive people defensive fighting system

  • The Music is Metallica with "Seek And Destroy"

  • Im sorry but I agree, most Aikido, especially AikiKai which this is not, isonly as effective as can be applied against actual trained attackers. I was fortunate to have trained with the 2nd Doshu, Nishio Sensei, Tomiki sensei, and Shioda sensei. They would hurt us if we 'gave in' to the technique. When one has lost , or given up their balance, the only way to respond is to 'dive' into the momentum, regain the control and perfom Sutemi Ukemi on the way over. This is something everyone needs.

  • Qual é o nome da música? What is the music name?

  • Meen meen meen....... what haven`t you understand at the Word Aikido??

AI= HARMONY, KI=Universal Power (Lifepower also), DO=The Way. This looks like bloody fighting Kids tryin to get their anger off..... there is NO Harmony, no dynamic in this.... it`s a shame... . Aikido is, to use the Energy of your Enemy against him! Not to create greater Power as him and Destroy him. As OSensei said: If you get attacked, close your opponent into your heart.

  • yeah aikido is very real..as what i've experienced, it helped me a lot..i have been using the techniques for many years..to make you believe, i am a very light built and i was able to take down a heavy enemy..i didn't attack him but defend myself instead.

  • Esto no es Aikido! son solo técnicas de defensa personal.

  • metallica

  • Dont agree with Blue Gi's and badges on your Gi unless its your name in japanese...

'Real Aikido' its almost as if your mocking the origional Routes of Aikido...

I would like to see if you can do the basic movements though or if you have just been taught the moves that look good

  • Kind'a feels like the term 'Aikido' has been 'hijacked' and held for ransom.

Real Aikido... as apposed to ?

Would seem more logical that Ueshiba sensei's Aikido and his student's way would be the 'real' one...

  • @daniel7133 oh, trust me, aikido is really applicable in real life, I'm a brown belt tip. Which is a level before black. I was attacked by a guy wielding a knife, i grabbed his hand a performed a lock which I have completely no idea how to spell, but it basically uses your opponent's strength against him by moving around him and holding his wrist, in which when he turns to face you you press on his wrist in a specific lock, highly effective and the person will fall because that technique affect

  • nice video, except is totally gay

  • Nice video by the way. :)

  • Бред полнейший.

  • It's true, there is no real demonstration of aikido in this video. True, it's chock full of joint locks, but her movements are constantly at odds with the attacker's. There is no unification of forces.

  • To add, the guy ay 1:16 clearly jumps to his back from "being hit" before the strike even lands. She litterally could of stood there and did nothing and it would of looked as if he was being thrown by a ghost.

Yea im sure its easy to use akido when its a demenstration but what aobut when your opponent accautly fights back and doesnt throw his own self to the ground?

  • @Daniel7133

The throw doesn't work by hitting them. That would be an elbow smash to the face. You can pick that up in two days of Karate.

She throws his mind, it's his own reflexive response to the motion, in the opposite direction of his forward momentum, that takes him off balance. in a real situation, opponents are giving even more momentum than this guy, and it works even better.

  • @Daniel7133 :

"fake fighting style" ... I'm sorry to say this but you need 1st to learn about something before you comment cause whatever style of aikido IS NOT fighting style - its defensive MA .

And all those throws... OF COURSE that in rl they wouldnt fall like that , dont know who said or claimed that they will fall ... This is DEMONSTRATION .But I'm sure that when you surprise and hit someone in specific places - it wont be nice thing to see or feel ;)

  • @REALNANATA its inpractical and useless.

  • @Mr155656 Nonsense.

    I can fight like f£$"Q

  • @REALNANATA Well sais. It is hard to train if you break your partners!

  • @Daniel7133 you are a fucking idiot. nowhere do i see him jump off the ground. and all the vids you see of aikido where the person does rolls when they get thrown is cuz if they dont they would end up with a broken bone. its called a demonstration for a reason idiot. and you would get your ass kicked by a person who has been doing aikido for awhile. dont fucking comment on something you dont know a damn thing about fagget. i will agree that wwe is fake tho. obviously everybody knows that genious

  • @Daniel7133 its looks to be a demo pin head, that's why he looks to be jumping. I like you to go to a akido dojo and say that its all fake.

  • @Daniel7133 It's an extremely useful Martial Art, and as stated is mainly for defense. It's a soft art. If in this demonstration that guy did NOT jump or move however she was manipulating him to, he would have broken a few bones in EACH technique. They have to follow the flow of energy. In a real fight with Aikido, you end up breaking bones. In a demo, you try to avoid that. Thus: a demonstration.

  • @Daniel7133 yeah its called straight over side break fall you dick head so he doesn't get his arm broken what an idiot u are

  • @Daniel7133

I can honestly understand why you would think this.

    I did as well.

Please though just try it and see for yourself.

  • @Daniel7133 It is also a skill to receive the technique properly as to not take damage. And yes WWE is extremely fake and aikido is not a combat style it is a martial art.

  • @Daniel7133 ?... I practiced aikido for 3 years (Im retreated for a while) and i know why he Jump.., He jump because that reduce the impact and that protect him from getting hurt...

  • @Dr34Dl0rDone your wrong, if I grab you by the wrist and flip you as hard as i can and you don't jump and spin, your wrist will break, so your wrong

  • @Daniel7133 would you prefer they didnt go with the motion or tried to resist and get their bones broken in merely a demonstration? You're more than a little ignorant

  • @Daniel7133 you realise that if they guy doesn't jump to be thrown by the arm then the guy's wrist will break into 2 you realise that right? i mean if I jammed your wrist in a rotating vice machine and rotate it, are you going to not jump and spin or are you going to let your wrist break? thats what people jump when a person is thrown by the wrist, its basic reaction.

  • @Daniel7133

    grow up man ;)

first get to know some things about MA (and especially about AIKIDO, cause that's the subject now), and then come back and add comments like you did above...

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah. Don't steal this kids PSP lol.

  • @StriderCX You're such a pathetic loser. Go try to punch even a low belt in Aikido and see how your day ends. You have the IQ of a paralyzed duck. Stop torrenting and get a life.

  • que payasos.

  • that was jujutsu. she can do those things but for her self she may opt for somthing else this was a demo

  • This is a falsely labelled video. No aikido here.

  • "One of the characteristics of the Aikido is the search of the harmonization of situations of conflict, instead of the destruction or defeat of the opponent."

i watch defeat of the opponent

  • @Ukitake666 Haha, I suppose that's true. I think "Real Aikido" strays from some of the more pacific aspects of traditional aikido and attempts to whet the combative efficacy, so as to become reliable in real-life contention.

I've only watched videos on Real Aikido; I haven't met anyone who actually practices, so I can't really attest its effectiveness, though it seems to be fast and these people convey it as useful.

  • @yoruketseki I agree with you, this aikido this one based on the self-defence, then this the aikido to which I refer, in that there are two options: to damage if the opponent resists or to leave it to go if there is no motive to fight, the attacker chooses at all time what is going to happen to him, is not the tori the one that decides for her

  • @Ukitake666 Such is the proficiency that many practitioners strive for. It's quite a demand, aikido being notoriously difficult to master, but once one does attain the ability to choose whether to harm the opponent or subdue them with minimal damage, they've accomplished a great feat. I don't disagree with you in any way; it's an interesting observation: the less conscientious side of aikido, though effective in one sense of the art, neglecting another.

  • This is aikidoka, i thinks its a rougher form of aikido, but when doing this cind of demonstration she knows what hes is trowing at her, you have to practise these kind of things. And if you watch some tomiki aikido videos you clearly see its nothing like this. It dosent work like this in real life but she can probobly handel well i a fight

  • @nemanjaarsic1 She's being gentle for the sake of her demo partner. In reality that would be a hard clothesline to the throat and I am quite sure you would go down. Jujijtsu uses the exact same technique, so I don't think you know what you are talking about.

  • @nemanjaarsic1 :

    Neverni Toma :P

  • @REALNANATA

I am not an ''uncle Tom". Move at 1:11 (i believe you are performer) is all but ''real'' it is so obvious that guy is throwing himself out :D

I was practitioner of karate but i was young then, i am 25 now and starting JUDO cause i want to train ''real" Martial Art :)

Honestly i do think Aikido is effective as any other martial art if you fully commit yourself to it and train hard. But my point at Aikido shows : It is all prepared and i hate that, i would not react like that guy 100%

  • @REALNANATA What is "Neverni Toma"?

  • @REALNANATA

Posle mog dubokog iscitavanja razlicitog stiva i upoznavanja sa Jujutsu-om i borilackim vestinama. Moram reci da sam promenio misljenje o Aikidu i mislim da je veoma kvalitetna vestina, ali .... :) I dalje dajem prednost Judo-u zbog kompletnog psiho-fizickog razvitka osobe :)

  • @nemanjaarsic1 hahahaha judo is sport u noob aikido is martial art ...

  • @DaceManUtd

I dont know why i am bothering to reply BUT : Please get your facts before making some bold statement.

Judo is martial art same as Aikido and Judo is also and Olympic Sport.

And just so you know Judo and Aikido come from same martial art called "Jujutsu"

  • @nemanjaarsic1 you're a fucking idiot....aikido is a combinatino of jiu-jitsu, judo and weapons training...that's first of all and second of all that punch is supposed to be to the groin I bet you your ass would feel that...unless you don't have balls...which is most likely the case....actually I bet you she could beat the fuck out of you and make you her personal bitch LMFAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • @sasat1986 Your lack of knowledge and manners is just .... but anyhow :

Claiming you know anything about any Martial Art and beginning reply to someone with "You're a fucking idiot" says A LOT about your Martial Art's knowledge and your culture at all.

I train Judo and i prefer it over Aikido cause of complete psycho-physical development (which you probably have not yet experienced), if you ever read anything you could see that famous Aikidoka Kenji Tomiki complained about randori in Aikido.

  • @nemanjaarsic1 oh boy...wow ok I have a black belt in Shotokan Karate, an orange belt in Chen Style Tai Chi, an orange belt in Sanshou...on top of that I have trained Jiu Jitsu, and Wing Chun...just so you're clear on my martial arts background. Now; Kenji Tomiki did not complain about it he simply stated that it needed more development...as far as psycho-physical development...an internal martial art would be the best course of action for you, or a combination of internal and external

  • @nemanjaarsic1 by the way Judo is good...don't get me wrong but for you to say Aikido is not a real martial art and then go and train Judo which is part of Aikido is quite stupid.....a real martial artist respects all of the arts and doesn't claim one is better than the other...because no one art is better than the other...it's the person who uses the art who is better....the art itself is just a tool....

  • @sasat1986 Well i think i said it, but i responded in my mother language to Nata (Aikido girl in this video i think) cause we are same nationality. I said that i was wrong (4months ago started JUDO training), and after a lot of reading about MA's and practicing i changed my mind and i do state every MA is good. But i still think that Randori practice and overall practice in JUDO atm is best developed of all MA's. It is closest to real situations, i train for Self-perfection not Self-protection.

  • Can be Daitō-ryū aiki-jutsu ...or Tenjin Shin' Yo Ryu Jujutsu.

  • This is not aikido.

    It's Jujitsu or something.

  • not only that video is excellent, it has great music as well

    thumb up sensei!

  • Because its a defensive martial art!

  • That is exactly why. I don't know why people don't understand it's a defensive art.

  • There are Aikido matches. They hold matches in Tomiki Aikido...ya big dummy

  • hey listen moose breath, cut the crap!

so where's a youtube vid on Tomiki Aikido?

  • What are you? Five years old? Need me to spoon feed you? Do a search on Youtube!

  • Real aikido!?!?...c'mon that stuff ain't real , it's pre-arranged choreography ...just like Pro-Wrestling . I've been trying to find REAL aikido for a while and its just not there....move on

  • Your brain isn't real because you aren't using it.

Just ask the numerous bouncers, security and law enforcement personnel that have used such techniques in situations.

  • you're an idiot.

  • @Greatrik777 It's a demo, dummy. The "real" refers to a more realistic approach in responding to attacks.

  • @wael77 does calling people names over the internet make you feel like a "somebody"?!?!....is that how you talk to people in real life?!?!

  • @Greatrik777 You're right, I apologize for that. You just got on my nerves with this "that stuff ain't real." I'm not an Aikido practitioner, but I have the common sense to understand that if you were to apply the techniques for "real", people would end up with broken wrists and elbows, dislocated shoulders and worse.

  • Check it out at 1:17 the guy is flipping before he even gets hit. You know I like this aikido it looks awesome but does it apply in the real world.

  • yes it is, but in reality its better to be trained than not prepared.

IMHO it depends on the person mentally and instinctively!

    its just a demo

    Chirs!

  • for an untrained person who doesn't go with the throw, the result is a bad backwards fall with broken bones. That's why he is flipping. It's called Ukemi, a breakfall and breakfalls are found in many other arts such as jujutsu, judo as well.

  • en realidad excelente demostracion nataly,. un saludo de lima peru

  • this is the best aikido demo I have seen all the other demo are stupid like give me your hand so I can flip you dumb stuff. atleast in this demo the person is being attacked.

  • i'm taking aikido. its a difficult martial arts to fully understand. you have to understand the ethics of defense, which is to subdue your opponent and immobilize him with the least amount of pain involved. it also quickens your reaction stages of analyze, decide and act. in order to get good you have to be fast with reflexes and always stay at your center. there you can always win. If ur interested get the book called AIKIDO and the DYNAMIC SPHERE. great book. any questions?

  • holy fuck this is sex to my eyes very nice

  • This is real, not demonstration. See the guy flapping his hands from time to time? He's signaling the other one to stop because he is in pain.

  • Lol... we do this in Judo to, when we train technique. But you can armbar somebody without a fight.

Sry. bur you comments was just stupid.

  • i don't think some people realize some of the subtleties of aikido, some of those movements and especially yankyo hurt like hell and make the uke compliant without really trying...

  • pretty cool looking demo...people forget its a demo though. its supposed to look crazy and dramatic, you wouldnt do a demo that was boring. the uke either goes with it or his limbs snap like twigs.

  • The reason the uke looks like he is just going wherever he is being pulled is that he is. If he didn't his wrist would end up broken XD

  • if no one attacks you it is the best possible situation ever rofl...

  • Uke (initial attacker/guy that ends up on the ground) is just playing along: incorrect. I speak from experience when I say that techniques done INCORRECTLY can be resisted without too much difficulty. but if technique is done well my only option is to move in such a way as to not injure myself

  • one of these days I should write a FAQ regarding the applications of aikido techniques. Too often people say things like "uke is just playing along" or "this isn't aikido because..." and the all too ubiquitous "lets see how that one plays out on the street/mma cage" I'm tired of it

  • Nice vid... some punches are great, but some throws won't be effective...

  • 3 of my friends train aikido, one of them is actually 1st dan. i went to their trainings a lot of times to watch. it is a nice activity for being healthy and in shape, but for real application, and against someone skilled in any martial art/ fighting system that uses full contact sparring, or even against a street thug who isn't afraid of taking damage...well, good luck aikidoka.

  • yep true. it takes loads of mastery and practice to be able to pull a good aikido move off in street fights.

  • Omfg why people always give badpoints to good comments just a little bit against the vid!

    I agree with you

  • is this real?

  • yeah but classic metallica..

    hoo-haa!.

  • man i can knock tha shit outta this guy he ain't shitt

  • That's not a guy buddy, that's a chick.

  • aikido significa algo mucho mas profundo que lo demostrado en el video. No se como se llama su arte marcial pero Aikido no es. Si su arte es llamado "real aikido" es respetable, pero algo muy superficial.

  • Hello Natalie ,

Great to see you back ! i have enjoy your Performance in Belgrade on Oct.19. You was and are a great Martial Artits.Best wishes Bernie from Germany.

  • Hello Bernie and thank you very much on your comment :D

I hope we will meet again so I can learn something more from you - Great Teacher and Great Master ^^

    Kisses from Belgrade :D

  • cool demonstration.

  • So Aikido is really practicing defensive moves not offensive moves.?

  • As you can see , i didnt attack anyone :P

  • Can you tell me how Aikido would be useless against say, A kung fu guy... or a Jeet Kune Do guy.. or even Jui Jitsu?

  • well the kunfu guy kicks so fast aikido would be useless i guess

and jujitsu is almost the same as aikido.

exept they use the effective techniques.

while aikido is all about dances that resemble fighting techniques.

  • What kind of rubbish is that? Aikido isn't limited by any speed requirement!!

    Jujitsu is nothing like Aikido!

It's obvious that you don't know what you're talking about. :[

The real answer is that most Aikido practitioners would have a hard time versus dedicated fighters due to the lack of 'sparring' in the art.

  • To fracturedfist: Aikido is a defensive primary form of fighting. It stresses using non-aggressive moves to avoid,block/or/direct, disarm, disable, lock, and subdue the attacker with as few moves as possible, as fast as possible, with as little harm to the attacker and defender as possible.

The average punch is 0.5 seconds. In theory, yes, it's too fast to avoid if constantly being thrown. But when done by two people of equal experience the speed is moot and can be blocked and locked down.

  • Maybe someone practicing Aikido was the one who gave you your name? :P In all seriousness though: Jujitsu was the basis for Aikido, like so many other Asian martial arts. You are correct here. Both forms are effective, but Aikido is more effective without being a Master. Which is better at that point is anyone's guess. And Aikido has to deal with... consult my previous post if you wish. I'm not repeating myself. =)

  • it's aikibudo not aikido

  • THIS IS N O T AIKIDO!!!!!!!!

  • It´s Aikidomoves, but in the beggining hi hit him in the stumec, and you dont do that in aikido xD

  • well its so boring when its fake..just look at 1:16 where the guy attacking is jumping before getting hit...so gay :D

  • I needed him after :P

  • He might be doing that to break his fall. Can someone confirm this?

  • eso es un asco!! cero aikido! donde esta!!

  • I do aikido...Some tecnics are fake =(

  • Whoa extremely external!! This is also the reason why I don't get into fights in the street.

  • I think thats pretty damn good and straight forward. It may not be the ultra soft aikido where theres no resistance but many styles like yoseikan, yoshinkan and you should see goshinjitsu use kicks and punches and are direct and brutal. I think this stuff would work. Like AlukarDaz said this girl rocks.

  • not REAL !!!

  • why that guy fall down before even he get hit???he jump down himself??

  • at 1:10 why the hell would he run beside her like that in the first place?

  • well that supposed to be "side grabbing attack " for hands , one by one of course ... but the point is not to allow the opponent to catch my other hand ... very dangerus for opponent :)

  • try that in brooklyn! real fights never work out that way! nice for show thou!

  • Hey man ... i live in Serbia :P

This is just a presentation of 1 possible attack and 1 possible way of defending .. thanks on comment :D

  • I apologize if I offended you. I guess since I live in the wild wild west of NYC my comment came off inappropriately. I respect all arts and find a lot to be learned from all.

  • Hey no problemo , just was funny to see that brooklyn comment .... well no funny in bad way ...in a good way ...does this having any sense that i wrote right now ?

Anyway ... thanks again on your comment ^^

  • i think you need a life.

  • nice show :) i like ju jitsu lol i never really learned aikido. you'r doing great job on the video. aikido looks good for defensive arts. well great video anyway best of luck, from albania!

  • LOL in Brooklyn I'd just shoot your ass...

  • how many black belts have you seen get in a street fight?

  • shocking so called aikido

  • i seen no aikido, just similar movements.

  • There´s no aiki in this discipline, I saw nothing of a correct ´irimi´, nothing of ´hara´ movement, and no "absortion" or integration in uke´s attacks.

Just same ´taijutsu´ technics such as all self-defence systems

  • well you should now the best :P

  • Sorry, I do not understand what you mean

  • It looks like i "eat" 1 letter ... thats "k" in front of "now" :)

  • no es ikido

  • real situations but too bad that the guy is playing along with her! This stuff needs to be without coreography.

Hehe pick a brave man from the crowd and hope for the best.. for him! Till then, this was a waist of everybody's time..

  • didnt you know aikido is just a type of dance

  • .....

  • wow very awesome..tnx...

  • this is no way aikido .. just uses akido name .. yaya

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • this would be as effective as spitting at your attacker

  • HAPKIDO?..well, i could see that..Hapkido was developed by a guy who studied w Sukaku, the Daito ryu master that Ueshibe studied with..But Seriously folks, if you use the name Aikido, maybe try JUST A BIT to do what is thought of as aikido. Perhaps the name Aikido is used here just so another Unknown martial arts name is avoided. thisd is certainly what Aikijujutsu was...and is. but Not what Aikido is....it looks REALLY Painful.and REALLY harsh..but maybe NOT so much REALLY Aikido

  • All good fun, but I saw no real fighting there

It was all pre-coeographed, anyone can look good when the opposition is "playing" along.

As stated by the poster, aikido redirects momentum to reduce the strain imposed on the body.

A distinct distinguishment from most traditional martial arts form is the notion that the defender must not injure the attacker

  • ..and you wont see any "fighting" here cause this is type of martial art where main goal is self-defence - NO fight .Here were presented some attacks and 1 specific way to react on that attack .Of course, there are numerous ways to respon ,I just showed 1.Real aikido has same basic as "traditional" aikido -and i mean in techniques, but not in philosophy.

  • In no way did I mean to sound critical dude...

I do agree the word fight was inappropriate

I am just feeling it hard to find actual display of self defense examples

  • np m8 ... its just question of taste and choise :)

  • real aikido is considered an other martial art, separate from the traditional aikido.i saw a couple of techniques in there like shihonage and kokyu-nage but it has been changed to be more karate-esque...

  • know what would be great??? To just one time see an Aikido guy post himself in a real srteet fight using Aikido..That would really be refreshing

  • I dont see aikido at all!!, this is Hakpido... I`dont remember Master Ureshiba doing that!! you have transforme it in other martial art... by the way.. good skills :)

  • what do you do if your attacker has no hands?

    just joshin'!

  • Aikido o Viet vu do??????

  • wtf was that thats not aikido in aikido all the masters wear those hakama things.and aikido is a soft martial art wich doesnt involve kick punches of grapples its purely redirecting moementom

  • IoI "that thats not aikido in aikido all the masters wear those hakama things" okey...this is very funny ROFLMAO

about that second thing that "aikido is a soft martial art wich doesnt involve kick punches of grapples its purely redirecting moementom " ... you have much more things to learn ( well that 1st sentence tells a lot :P )

  • Good Words xD...That Woman > That Little Boy xD

  • That girl rocks!

  • Anything that is backed by or involves Dan Netherland is highly suspect at best.

  • ???

  • Maybe you can try me. I garantee that it will not be too simple.

Its never works on real fight against bjj or judo fighters. Maybe, only against a non fighter guy.

  • ok maybe she would kick my butt, but im not convined, get in a MMA ring and maybe ill be convinced

  • :)

Well if you would attack me...most certanly i would defend myself ...

and ... i'm not interested in fights ,cages etc. ... just in my defence ...

  • I agree

  • I sort of agree about techniques working in MMA. The cage is a great proving ground for real time aplication of technique IMHO. My personal opinion is that Akijutsu techniques have a place in MMA. We just haven't had someone who wants to apply them. Look at Machida and his aplication of karate. He made it work. I plan to study Akijutsu at some point, and I think that it will complment my BJJ and kickboxing very well. It all works, if you make it work. Just my .02
