hello my name is lance and im looking for a ball where since im a bit slow throwing i can get itt down there at my speed and still have a nice strong but not to strong curve can you recommend me a ball, im 12 so lets also think about price range i can go from 75-156 dollars.
Hey i got a question i recently bought a virtual gravity and energy. I used to bowl with a black widow. Is it possible to get a really good long shot then get a curve at the last minute. Which ball would do it best from watching both of the videos it seems energy is pretty close
Hi Chris, I am a high school bowler with a 210 average. I have a black widow hammer and The One (original). I want to get a less reactive ball that holds long and has nice backend. Would you recommend the energy for my situation? Any other balls you would recommend?
hey, i am looking for a new bowling ball but idk what to choose... i am a tweener bowler with a a 191 average. i now use a storm virtual gravity (14lbs) a storm hyroad (14lbs) and a white ball spare ball (14lbs). if any one can help on key points or advise that would help a lot. thanks.
@clonewars22 I just got the Virtual Energy, In the summer I'm either buying the Anarchy, or if theres an even newer/bigger ball by then I'll probably by that. Regardless, Storm is the best bowling ball on the market right now, at least in my opinion anyways.
Hey chris, my name is Russ and I'm a junior in high school. I hold a 190 average with my Virtual Energy, but I struggle with it's carry on heavy oil patterns. I am getting another ball for christmas, so what ball do you think would go very well with the Virtual Energy?
Hey, I'm new to bowling and still learning about layouts. My average is only about 190, by ball speed is medium and my rev rate is high. My local proshop says I have a medium track, if that helps. I have a Roto grip Rogue Cell pin down, a virtual energy pin up, a nomad pearl pin up, a roto grip riot pin down, and of course a spare ball. What would be a good edition to my arsenal and how do you think it should be drilled?

@derickfair2687 Mission for sure... virtual has a tendency to leave tens alot and hit like a terd if you dont throw it exactly right. A perfect example of the Virtual gravity is that for our tryouts i used it in order to leave weak tens so that i could leave a makeable spare shot. i have only seen this ball work well for a few people but the mission, when drilled correctly is a monster of a ball for many patterns. it is rare to go to a college tourney and not see at least one on every rack
What would be the next good ball of me? I usually bowl on light oil and my average is around 170. I have slow ball speed and a slow rev rate. My other two balls are a Columbia 300 Freeze and a Ebonite Striking Motion. Please answer! Thanks!
@BuddiesProShopcom So I had a brother in law give me a few old storm balls, and when I bowl with them it hurts my fingers. Does that mean the span is too big or is that just finger strength? I feel like I have to squeeze the ball to hold on to it and I cant throw them faster than 13-14mph.
@iwasadeum If the balls weren't fitted to your hand, then that is the problem. Take them to the local pro shop and have them fit and redrilled. Otherwise you can do damage to your hand. Bowling with balls that don't fit correctly can assume tendinitis and I know, because I was out for 3 months as a junior for that same issue.
@BuddiesProShopcom This should be the last question about bowling balls. As i've read and watched videos and talked with multiple bowlers I've come to a decision between 3 bowling balls:
Storm Virtual Energy
Storm Anarchy
Brunswick Damage
My bowling teacher told me that they were similar balls so they should work well for my style. I just want to know which you prefer? I'm somewhat leaning towards the Anarchy and Virtual Energy, but I dont know if that extra $40 is for the Storm name
@iwasadeum Brunswick has a tendency to leave some weird spares simply because it is so smooth. If you are a house shot bowler, i personally suggest the anarchy. i have seen these thrown by many athletes and personally love the ones i have thrown, but may i also suggest the reign supreme. it is a very forgiving and hard hitting ball. i love the ones i have thrown and am soon to buy a case of them just so i never run out
what would be the best pearl ball for heavy oil? i would get a solid ball, but i hate that they only work on heavy oil conditions (the jigsaw is a perfect example of that...) with the exception of the virtual gravity and invasion, but i also dont want the ball to die out that fast (most of the time i forget to clean the ball after my session).
I am planning on getting a new ball this August. I am looking for a nice strong backend that can cut through heavy oil. I have already used the Virtual Gravity and I want something stronger yet, not as smooth. Would you recommend this or the Mutant Cell Pearl?
@M0nkey4mage I don't know of a ball on the market that gives you as much backend as a Virtual Gravity on Heavy Oil. Both the Invasion and Prodigy are strong arcing ball motions. The Mutant Cell Pearl is made for Medium Oil.
@M0nkey4mage The mutan cell has a stronger back end than the pearl if you are looking for a stronger back end than I have bothe the mutan cell and the virual gravity and the mutan cell is a better ball for hook both are drilled the same. The balls that I have arestrongest to the weakest are the mutan cell.storm virual energy .The best thing I can say is have your pin placed above your ring finger for more hook.
My current ball line up is a Hyroad, Dimension (1st), and a 900 global Link. I really want something with more length that still hits fairly hard for when my Hyroad and Dimension tear up the lanes. Would you recommend this, the 2nd Dimension or the Cell Pearl?
I just picked up this ball a couple of weeks ago. Its drilled for length and a sharp backend. The first thing I noticed, on a fresh THS, is the way it just pushes down the lane with not enough midlane read and can't recover in time. It definitely tries though. On the plus side, when it does come back into the pocket, it just keeps coming and hits really hard. I pretty much can't use the VE on fresh oil and always end up switching to a solid. Once the heads start to dry though, the VE is ON
Just bought this ball (with strong layout) after getting back into bowling this year. Covers more boards than my old ball (Track Sensor Xcel purple pearl) but I've never left more solid 8's and 8-10s than I did with the VE. How many games should I put on it before I panic? BTW it's 16 lb, I'm rolling about 17mph 275rpm. Ball needs a weight hole anyways, could that help?
@shad0h027 8 pins are left because the ball is finishing too high in the pocket, most times. 8-10's are left for a completely different reason, the ball is hitting light and deflecting. The weight hole won't fix that. You need to watch closely as your ball enters the pocket, and make adjustments off of that.
@BuddiesProShopcom Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah the 8-10's were weird, looked like a solid 8 and a solid 10 at the same time. I had some skin come off my thumb knuckle as I was bowling, makes me think maybe I was pinching the ball. Not used to seeing those "fruit salad" hits but maybe a little tape in the thumbhole and some games with the ball will fix that...
@shad0h027 ill tell you why all the stone 8s and 8 10s. this is an aggressive ball. i had one. its so aggressive, alot of times it burns up its energy if there isnt enough oil, therefore hitting the pins and deflecting. i suggest getting a weaker piece to throw on the shots you bowl on and save the VE for a little more oil.
@Booker435 Thanks Booker. I used the ball again since my post, only one solid 8 (and one solid ten) all day. I think I WAS pinching the ball, put some tape in the thumbhole and my carry got a lot better. Not sure if this was the reason I scored better or just a fresher shot...
hey you must look for the surface...if in the lane is really much oil so then if think that the pearl ball will be slliding its reealy diificull to play with that ball...and you shuold than use the mat ball..so you need to have more ball for the difret lane conditions or abrallons..but i preffer the balls..now i have new jigsaw , jigsaw corner ..virtual energy new columbia jazz and hammer sting and natural..
need help here. current arsenal is black widow pearl, a very old hammer urethane ball and white dot for sparing. thinking of getting the VE for more oily lane as my BWP is pin below finger drilling for more angular. is VE a good choice? im a cranker with high rev with mid speed. need help from buddiespro!!!
I have an invasion, mutant cell, black widow sting and an old virtual gravity. I need something pearlized for tournaments and thought about getting this to compliment my arsenal. Is this a good option or do you suggest something else?
Two very different balls. I would say go with a Mutant so you have a Solid reactive coverstock, when you need something to give you more grab on the slicker lane conditions.
For some reason my Gravity Shift rolls more then my VE and my GS is half dead. It doens't do Jack in heavy oil but it reacts very nicely on dryer conditions. I asked the professional that driled the ball and said he drilled it to be as agressive as possible which is the same way my Gravity Shift is drilled. When I bowled with my GS for the fisrt time that ball went long but hooked like crazy. I thought I was Tommy Jones when I first bowled with my GS but my VE hardly reacts in oil.
i just got this ball a week ago and dam this ball reacts wit mostly any lane condition dry to heavy it moves rele good its got a big backend so its a deff buy
I threw the Invasion and a Virtual Energy on a modified Shark pattern this week (extended to 45'), and given the heavier concentration and longer patter, i actually prefered the VE over the Invasion. The invasion wanted to roll much sooner, and the VE angularity gave me a better look from inside.
medium oil: nomad pearl and reign. the reign will snap more in the backened and the nomad pearl has a smoother transition. medium/heavy: virtual energy, you can play any where from medium to heavy with this ball because it has a nice skid and all the reaction is downlane. depends how much you put on the ball.
I had mine drilled for tournament as on the instruction booklet the ball came with, and it would not move in heavy oil for me cranking the shit out of it. As soon as u hit a dry spot though this thing takes off
pretty sure any ball, no matter its characteristics wont move if there is a great amount of heavy oil and any ball that comes into contact with extremely dry parts will react violently.
Still, this ball is an awesome ball if your planning to buy a new one every 2 months or so. I've seen many people buy this ball and after about 3 weeks the ball is cracking up and completely lost its reaction. Imo, the jigsaw is a much better ball
This ball is amazing. I have two of them. One with a 50* 4.5 65* and the other with a 60* 4.5 30*. Both give me completely different looks but with the same great results.
If you haven't had Chris punch a ball for you, do so. He definitely knows his shit.
I love the look of this ball. I currently have a virtual gravity, a hyroad, and a complete nv. I am looking for something to fit in between the virtual and the hyroad for when its too much on our league shot.
What would you recommend? I was thinking a rogue cell, 2-D, or possibly this energy? Hopefully you can help! Love your vids!
Better? The Virtual Gravity is made for Heavier Oil patterns, while the Virtual Energy is made for Medium-Heavier Oil Patterns, a good ball for your typical house shot.
I got the virtual Energy from you guys and i cant get enough of that ball. Everything is good about it!!! The virtual energy is just incredible!!!!!!. Tanx a lot guys.
I through you were talking about the Gravity Shift. I would leave the Virtual Energy in box condition, it is a great ball to go to when the Virtual Gravity is too much ball.
Im looking to figure out a 4th ball for my arsenal. I have a virtual gravity that starts up early, then a twisted fury destruction that goes later with less hook. I got a 2nd dimension thinking it would go later then have a bigger backend but that ended up being a bust for me. So im getting the Track 715A hoping it will do that for me. Then im looking to get a 4th ball to fit somewhere in there. Any ideas?
I have the Virutal Gravity and its a great ball except im looking for a ball with a bit more length that doesnt break as early as the virtual gravity but i still want to keep the aggressivnes it has now ive been looking at this ball and thinking about getting this one, because as far as i can see it has length but it is also aggressive. Could somebody tell me if this is a good choice or if there is another ball that might be better for what i need ? my lane conditions are typical house shot.
What is the difference between this ball and the gravity shift? The are both meant to go longer than the virtual gravity. So can't I creat the same look putting surface on the gravity shift!
As you can see from the layout, it is not drilled for a lefty. The CG off the Mass Bias line, but since the CG doesn't matter on a Mass Bias ball, and you use the Mass Bias to layout the ball, it is laid out like any other bowling ball.
I now throw this ball, and damn, it DOES hit like a truck. Beware, this ball throws pins upward of the deck. There's a lot of energy reserved for the pocket. I guess that's the design intent. But wow, it's got strong back-end too. Not a light oil ball for sure. Hahaha.
I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. I drilled it up with the pin over my middle finger and the CG in the center of my grip. After a couple of games I hated it. I decided to put a surface on it and I hated it even more and was about to sell it. I then polished it back up with Storm polish and the first game with it shot 299. the next day I shot 638 with it on a very difficult PBA league where we had to move to a different lane and condition after each game. Think I am going to keep it.
Although you would think they would be similar, they are not. The Virtual Gravity is meant to hook quite a bit with it's out of the box finish whereas the Energy is meant to go further down the lane before breaking; this is due to it's out of the box shiny finish. I am sure you could shine the Virtual Gravity up to get a similar reaction but that was not the intent of Storm when releasing the ball.
I just got the ball myself and it is amazing, going from the dimension to this was HUGE. No matter where the ball hits it will carry the pins. Out of 18 games I threw with it the day I got it, I left 4 10 pins, and averaged about 215. It's amazing, I recommend this ball to anyone who wants something with a lot of hook and something that is very aggressive.
Just picked up my first brand new ball ever in the Virtual Energy. Got it from Chris and Tim at Buddies Pro Shop and I couldn't be any happier. I got to try out a couple balls first and then Chris suggested the VE. This thing has AMAZING backend compared to my Special Agent and is going to kill on heavier oil whereas my SA doesn't break at all. Big thumbs up to those two guys, really professional and a great price too!
Depends on your rev rate. The most important thing at Nationals, in my eyes, is that the team plays the lane similiar so that everyone breaks down the pattern the same.
Agreed. Also, breakpoints at 9/10 are ideal as well. If you make sure people are all playing no further left that 12/13 and no further right than up 9/10, you all can just follow the pattern left as it burns up.
My rev rate is around 370; about 18 mph. I ended up purchasing a Rogue Cell instead. I'm a lefty so I won't have the option of having people helping me break the lanes down. I hope to just shell down once I get comfortable.
Hey guys i have a virtual gravity nano was wondering how this ball would fit next to the nano, thank you in advance.

chriscubfan93 2 years ago
i got a virtual energy for x-mas and it is one of the best balls ive thrown, it beats the reign and cell hands down.

Hey when are you guys coming out with the Storm Invasion video? I'm dying to see your take on that ball.
trueblu8 2 years ago
how long will the VE maintain its hook potential?
Xzerex 2 years ago
what was the polisher from storm that was posted first on the vid?
sorealtaz 2 years ago
Reacta Shine and Reacta Clean are the two cleaners in the video.

which one is better c system or virtual energy?
yowi004 2 years ago
which would be stronger on heavy oil the virtual gravity or the virtual energy? cause to me they look identical on heavy oil
mfc889 2 years ago
Virtual Gravity is much stronger overall in heavy oil.

Which be better for medium oil. hyroad or virtual energy?
dwolniak 2 years ago
Depends on your game. The best person to ask that, is your local pro shop professional.

which is better, virtual energy 2nd dimension or dimension?

virtual energy!

what's better for medum conditions? And for more oil patterns Nomad pearl , Reign or Virtyal energy?
BM2504X 2 years ago
@BM2504X i have all three.. the virtual energy is probably the most versatile..
ftripodi10 2 years ago
medium oil: nomad pearl and reign. the reign will snap more in the backened and the nomad pearl has a smoother transition. medium/heavy: virtual energy, you can play any where from medium to heavy with this ball because it has a nice skid and all the reaction is downlane. depends how much you put on the ball.
10InThePitBowler 2 years ago
well now u would wanna go for the invasion for heavy oil. that ball is an absolute monster

can any body tell what is this song please?

It is a copy right free song, I am not sure of the name of it.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
I had mine drilled for tournament as on the instruction booklet the ball came with, and it would not move in heavy oil for me cranking the shit out of it. As soon as u hit a dry spot though this thing takes off
linkincrystals 2 years ago
pretty sure any ball, no matter its characteristics wont move if there is a great amount of heavy oil and any ball that comes into contact with extremely dry parts will react violently.
Still, this ball is an awesome ball if your planning to buy a new one every 2 months or so. I've seen many people buy this ball and after about 3 weeks the ball is cracking up and completely lost its reaction. Imo, the jigsaw is a much better ball
WILDSTYLEVOLATILE 2 years ago
hey im getting a new ball soon and would this be a good ball for dry lanes if not wat ball would

The tropical storm or hammer vibe :) awesome dry balls

What are the music in this video ?
rotostorm 2 years ago
This ball is amazing. I have two of them. One with a 50* 4.5 65* and the other with a 60* 4.5 30*. Both give me completely different looks but with the same great results.
If you haven't had Chris punch a ball for you, do so. He definitely knows his shit.

is this ball stronger than reign?
BM2504X 2 years ago
I would say this hook more overall, but the Reign has more backend.

good ball in michigan sucks in toledo tho

I love the look of this ball. I currently have a virtual gravity, a hyroad, and a complete nv. I am looking for something to fit in between the virtual and the hyroad for when its too much on our league shot.
What would you recommend? I was thinking a rogue cell, 2-D, or possibly this energy? Hopefully you can help! Love your vids!

Virtual Energy is a great compliment to the Virtual Gravity.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
go with the 2D. greatest ball ever
Booker435 2 years ago
which is better virtual gravity or virtual energy
kifflee456 2 years ago
Better? The Virtual Gravity is made for Heavier Oil patterns, while the Virtual Energy is made for Medium-Heavier Oil Patterns, a good ball for your typical house shot.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
it looks quite good the way u bowl.but which one you recommand.the virtual energy or the virtual gravity
kifflee456 2 years ago
This guys bowling style is similer to Tommy Jones.
Astromchaser 2 years ago
I got the virtual Energy from you guys and i cant get enough of that ball. Everything is good about it!!! The virtual energy is just incredible!!!!!!. Tanx a lot guys.
Norros23 2 years ago
If you took the polish off of it and gave it the correct layout, would it be a good ball to go to when the Gravity becomes too much?
Track8401 2 years ago
If you are going to take the polish off the ball, why not just drill a Virtual Gravity?
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
I have a Gravity already. Got it from you little over a month ago lol.
Track8401 2 years ago
I through you were talking about the Gravity Shift. I would leave the Virtual Energy in box condition, it is a great ball to go to when the Virtual Gravity is too much ball.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
are we talking about the 2-D?
bowlintigersrock88 2 years ago
Im looking to figure out a 4th ball for my arsenal. I have a virtual gravity that starts up early, then a twisted fury destruction that goes later with less hook. I got a 2nd dimension thinking it would go later then have a bigger backend but that ended up being a bust for me. So im getting the Track 715A hoping it will do that for me. Then im looking to get a 4th ball to fit somewhere in there. Any ideas?
bowlintigersrock88 2 years ago
i've bought it this week and love it what a reaction it has

My Rev Rate is close to a cranker's
Mathiasholmen 2 years ago
I have the Virutal Gravity and its a great ball except im looking for a ball with a bit more length that doesnt break as early as the virtual gravity but i still want to keep the aggressivnes it has now ive been looking at this ball and thinking about getting this one, because as far as i can see it has length but it is also aggressive. Could somebody tell me if this is a good choice or if there is another ball that might be better for what i need ? my lane conditions are typical house shot.
Mathiasholmen 2 years ago
one question is there any difference between the virtual energy and the 2nd dimension, i roll the 2nd :) thanks
benbowl123 2 years ago
ive got a gravity shift and a tornado. my tornado is dead. i need a ball for dry lanes. what should i get?
JtownBronco8 2 years ago
Storm Fast, or Columbia Freeze
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
how do you think the storm natural would be for dry lanes or broken down lanes.
iPaintball2012 2 years ago
How does this ball compare to the Twisted Fury?
M4GiKnoX 2 years ago
Another question. I'm going to be buying Storm's Virtual Gravity and I'm just wondering the Virtual Energy is a good complement to add with it?
M4GiKnoX 2 years ago
this ball is a BEAST!!! best Storm since the original X-Factor
mexfighter 2 years ago
The virtual energy is a hybrid, the gravity shift is a pearl, and the virtual gravity is solid.... if that will answer anyone's questions
917bobby 2 years ago
Thanks for the reply. I thought the gravity shift went longer. Thanks for the clarification. It would be cool to see a video with all three balls.
klshoji 2 years ago
What is the difference between this ball and the gravity shift? The are both meant to go longer than the virtual gravity. So can't I creat the same look putting surface on the gravity shift!
klshoji 2 years ago
The Virtual Energy will go longer before it makes the move to the pocket than the Gravity Shift.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
why is this ball allmost drilled lefty
brunswicksucks 2 years ago
As you can see from the layout, it is not drilled for a lefty. The CG off the Mass Bias line, but since the CG doesn't matter on a Mass Bias ball, and you use the Mass Bias to layout the ball, it is laid out like any other bowling ball.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
I now throw this ball, and damn, it DOES hit like a truck. Beware, this ball throws pins upward of the deck. There's a lot of energy reserved for the pocket. I guess that's the design intent. But wow, it's got strong back-end too. Not a light oil ball for sure. Hahaha.
evotweener 2 years ago
I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. I drilled it up with the pin over my middle finger and the CG in the center of my grip. After a couple of games I hated it. I decided to put a surface on it and I hated it even more and was about to sell it. I then polished it back up with Storm polish and the first game with it shot 299. the next day I shot 638 with it on a very difficult PBA league where we had to move to a different lane and condition after each game. Think I am going to keep it.
royplayer 2 years ago
Im thinking of getting this ball or the Storm virtual gravity, not sure which to get since their very a like.
extraacount123 2 years ago
Although you would think they would be similar, they are not. The Virtual Gravity is meant to hook quite a bit with it's out of the box finish whereas the Energy is meant to go further down the lane before breaking; this is due to it's out of the box shiny finish. I am sure you could shine the Virtual Gravity up to get a similar reaction but that was not the intent of Storm when releasing the ball.
royplayer 2 years ago
this ball hits like a truck its amazing
bowlingboy1231 2 years ago
i throw the virtual gravity about 5-5 left to right. and love it. could i do something like that with this ball?
14jordan94 2 years ago
Very nice video.
XcessiveEvil 2 years ago 2
I just got the ball myself and it is amazing, going from the dimension to this was HUGE. No matter where the ball hits it will carry the pins. Out of 18 games I threw with it the day I got it, I left 4 10 pins, and averaged about 215. It's amazing, I recommend this ball to anyone who wants something with a lot of hook and something that is very aggressive.
PoliticingRep12 2 years ago
i am having mine drilled right now...i already throw a virtual gravity..this one runs a little longer
sbnick27 2 years ago
Just picked up my first brand new ball ever in the Virtual Energy. Got it from Chris and Tim at Buddies Pro Shop and I couldn't be any happier. I got to try out a couple balls first and then Chris suggested the VE. This thing has AMAZING backend compared to my Special Agent and is going to kill on heavier oil whereas my SA doesn't break at all. Big thumbs up to those two guys, really professional and a great price too!

chris forry is so accurate.
his game is great and this ball looks promising.

leontan92 2 years ago
Do you think this would be a good choice for the USBC nationals shot?
Sawhead28 2 years ago 2
Depends on your rev rate. The most important thing at Nationals, in my eyes, is that the team plays the lane similiar so that everyone breaks down the pattern the same.
BuddiesProShopcom 2 years ago
Agreed. Also, breakpoints at 9/10 are ideal as well. If you make sure people are all playing no further left that 12/13 and no further right than up 9/10, you all can just follow the pattern left as it burns up.
Pmanning16 2 years ago
My rev rate is around 370; about 18 mph. I ended up purchasing a Rogue Cell instead. I'm a lefty so I won't have the option of having people helping me break the lanes down. I hope to just shell down once I get comfortable.
Sawhead28 2 years ago
Oh yeah, great music too.
trueblu8 2 years ago
I like the way you guys did the overlay. Much easier to discern between the two balls.
