I think that the NC overanalyzed this one, and I think some commentators here are too. The same issues could be cited with the first film. If we need to know where Dark Heart came from, than why aren't we clamoring about where the Evil Spirit from the first film came from? Addressing what happened to the cubs parents really isn't relevant to the story, either, it would just take up running time. Why do we need to know any of that?

Does anyone else get the feeling that this movie starts where a much more interesting one ended? What were they doing in the middle of the ocean? Why is Dark Heart chasing them? what happened to the cub's parents, did Dark Heart kill them?

Seems to me, answering questions like that would give you a way more engaging story. Or maybe I'm just over analyzing things.

NC bought me here, but I saw this movie to many times to count when I was 5. As right as he is about everything in the film, well I don't think the film's target audience would think about any of that stuff. I know I didn't all the times I saw it, I just accepted when I saw since I pretty much had a short attention span and memory of detail anyway. I think its as u get older you start to catch that the flaws more and more.

Care bears II is really just about Satan possessing a child and the Care Bears (Angels)

getting the demon out of the child. In real life it happens all the time it's just called Demon possession. But when you put it in a cartoon, it's cute. At least children become more aware of the "spiritual world" at a young age through care bears. Thanks Care Bears. Satan is everywhere even in cartoons

I grew up watching this movie, among many others. Now as a adult, I still remember all the songs, and dialogue. I still cry watching it, it makes me so happy! I have this movie on vhs, my grandmother, taped it for me off "viewers choice" lol The tape no longer works very well. One of my favorites, I get to share it with my kids :)

This film was released around the same time of a re-release of "Sleeping Beauty" and I can see why "Sleeping Beauty" did so well and this film did not. This film made $8.5 million compared to "Sleeping Beauty"'s $15 million. I think Dark Heart is much more scarier than Maleficient and the scenery and music in "Sleeping Beauty" are MUCH better to watch and listen to than this. Flora, Fauna, Merriweather, and even Aurora (who had very little screen time) are better than the characters in this.
