  • Only one place to go now...yeah...further down the table! LOL

  • All I heard was "but sdnskndsjndsnksd manager jdfjdjfkdnf looking back jkjhhkhk"

  • i understood everything he said.

  • to be fair, nobody can speak English in England

  • All in one breath

  • the fuck SCOUSERRRRR

  • wow

  • from 33s to 38s he made sense kinda proves my theory that all accents are faked

  • the subs are impossible to read you should have just put what he said in the descrpition

  • Full stops do not exist because I'm Jamie Carragher

  • Transcribe Audio: "Really does as the oklahomans that will affect ed info these pieces is out and shall certify severance the woman"

    WTF?!

  • I love that a significant percentage of the subtitles contain grammatical and typographical errors.

  • @MarksMindBox

yes cos it's copying what he's saying you moron.

  • i'm like any fan a;'ldp[wr]eskf,m.mx./l;dk;askd';kaskvcv;lxcv'klxc';vks'dlf'ld;'fl'lfa';lfs'la'sl pwqldlw[qldwlda;slfd' .

  • wat

  • I like the sounds of all the different kinds of English, including this.

  • I understand him, I'm not scouse, but i live quite close to Liverpool, This is quite easy to understand for me.

  • @ClassicEngland Yeah I'm from New Zealand I still understand him.

  • sandbabadjajdabhdsdhasdjsbdusjdnjasdjkasbdjasbdasudasdnbwdew WTF?

  • When he retires from footy he should become an MC! MC Carra!!

  • Gotta love the scousers, I'm scottish and can understand easily!

  • when i hear him talk i can only understand RING RING RING RING BANANA PHONE!!!!!!

  • Am I the only one who didn't find this that hard to understand? And I'm American. You think I'd have no idea haha. I think the biggest problem is that he has a soft voice and he speaks fast, that coupled with when he drops off in a sentence (either thinking or towards the end of one) makes you really have to listen for that last bit.

Then again, if English isn't your first language, I don't blame you for thinking this sounds like gibberish.

  • @lafolieviolet Just wanted to add, that was while actively watching this clip. It occurred to me that, if it had just been playing in the background while I was doing something else, I wouldn't have gotten nearly as much of it.

  • LOL

Even Tevez's english is more understandable!

At least, you can understand that Tevez is saying "Maybe".

  • Christina Ronaldo speaks better English than this guy from that '08 video-post, when Ronaldo said himself was 'too good'! LOL... but damn bloody true! And this Carragher guy can't even speak English that well, and he's from there.

  • the peoples of liverpool and manchester have NOTHING in common with London and the south east of the stateof england. They shouldjoin either Wales or Cumbria and fight (peacefully) for Home Rule. Latin might be a useful new language for them, if i might suggest. Or even Esperanto. But Latin is a tried-and-trusted lingo.

Anyway, this is just a suggestion. What do others think?

WED-NOV-30-2011 (ST. ANDREW'S DAY IN SCOTLAND!!)(

WHAT SAINT'S DAY IS THIS IN LANCASHIRE?

  • @squirell1952 What do others think? probably that you are a prick!

  • English is my 3rd language and I understand 90% of what he said. I don't understand why so many people have so much problems with the Scouce accent! It just means that them people are stupid, because a person like me whos English is his 3rd language could understand.

Ok, I admit, I have a pretty good English but still :p

  • Im not from England and English is not my first language and I have no problems understand that :s

  • I speak good slow english but i come from Merseyside, I can still understand everything he says. Best of both worlds :3

  • i understand with my eyes closed. u mad?

  • Well , he is a real Scouser ..

  • All this talk of English...? You don't get it. We're Scouse not English. Pricks.

  • @oldmatebri and what country do scousers come from? oh yer england! then again cant expect much more intelligence from a scouse.

  • @oldmatebri Scouse not English? That's a bit like saying ''we're manc not english'' or ''we're londoners, not english'' - fucking retarded, yeah.

  • oh, i have just remembered - if you educate the lower classes, you will produce a nation of EDUCATED criminals. Now, we can't have that, can we? For proof, just look at ever white-collared and gold-collared person in governments all over the planet.

  • your accent does not count. but if people can understand you, then that is fine.

this is why we need compulsory education for everyone out t here - and that includes those families where malfunction is rife. if a criminal is found guiltly, he should be fined X amount of money. If has hasn't completed high school, the fine should be doubled or tripled. Now we'll see the scum going off to night school.

  • @squirell1952 Well said <3

  • @smalltimer666 - Hiya, did you really mean it when you said Well Said 2 weeks ago?

C'mon, you're kidding!! I hope I wasn't being too rude to the rest of the State of England. I mean, it IS a lovely place but I always found the Northerners more friendly than the Southeast. The people in Southwest England are also very friendly (in a country or rural sort of way). AT LEAST T HEY HAVE A PERSONALITY LIKE THE NORTHEAST!! And the Geordies are pally, as well.

ALL THIS FROM A SOUTHERN IRISHMAN!!

  • as the bbc has dumbed itself down to appeal to illiterates everywhere, when are we going to 'ave Cilla black reading the news on tv? or people from the back streets of every city? these people NEVER listen to Radios Three or Four, and have no interest in bbc 3 or bbc4 tv stations. they would rather watch those lower class programmes about tattoos and cookery. those shows do NOT tax your brain, you see.my motto in life is fuck the fucking lower class illiterates on those council estates.

  • @squirell1952 oh shut up for fucks sake you boring, patronising , self righteous prick

  • can these people not be ELECTRONICALLY SLOWED DOWN when they are on tv or radio? Mabe not if the programme is live. but, on a precorded show, could not one of the radio engineers not slow t he fuckers down. maybe then we will understand what the dickheads and pinheads are talkiing about? i mean, just listen to half the "celebs" out there on reality tv. lower class trash, more like.

  • the subtitles are fkin annoying. scroll at 100000x speed

  • and I thought Adebayor's english sucked

  • I'M A SCATMAN!!!

  • How'd you write subtitles if you cant understand him?

  • @Visualundeath ehh...1. He never said he couldnt understand him.

    2. The uploader of the video is rarely the creater.

  • @Visualundeath He didn't say he couldn't understand him :P

  • @Visualundeath Where's he said that he doesn't understand him in "Jamie Carragher Butchers the English Language (with subtitles)".

  • @Visualundeath Anti joke chicken

  • I am Thai and I understand what he said

, but I feel very dizzy while i read subtitles below.

  • alien accent

  • This should figure in the english language tests to get in the UK

  • correction, "it's probably a disappointment." not disappointing

  • i dont nee sub, I AM SCOUSE

  • Close your eyes, try and understand what the fuck he is saying xD

  • its hard to follow with the subtitles because the subtitels are like dancing

  • This is English ffs?!

  • @Obelisk1990 to be honest I've heard far worse... Some people in Liverpool you can't actually understand at all... but it's a real laugh

  • Surprised he didn't try to nick the subtitles tbh

  • He's a Scouser. Talks Scouse. Get over it.

  • Jamie Carragher <3

  • WTF???

  • and you buddy have butchered my eyes with the subtitles

  • I didn't understand anything when I was not looking at the subtitles. LOL, still love the man though

  • was he rapping ?

  • We all dream of a team of Carraghers

  • OUR NUMBER 1 IS CARRAGHER, OUR NUMBER 2 IS CARRAGHER....!!!

  • holy shit I cant speak english that fast cuz its my second language

  • @0zzy07 eh only carra can.

  • DAT JAW

  • Legend!

  • I am from Austria and I understand him.... (:

I love the Scouse accent (:

  • I'd kill to have a Scouse accent! Jerkkkk. :/

  • I'm of Indian origin and from Singapore, and now I live in the U.S. and I can understand him perfectly. And as some people have rightly pointed out here, you won't spot any grammatical errors in his speech. I'd say that grammar is far more important than the accent is.

  • hey you spelt 'cause', 'Chelsea' and 'definitely' wrongly, and you can still tease Carra on his accent.... um ok.

  • Very harsh. He speaks fast and with a strong accent but his English is not poor.

  • I'm from Canada with only a very small exposure to the Scouse accent, and I understood him perfectly, save for one or two words. I don't see how this is a "butcher".

  • Same, just another jealous MANC.

  • How can you guys find it hard to understand? I understand him perfectly, but that might be because am scouse :)

  • I from Singapore AND I UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAYING. YNWA

  • I'm Danish, I understand this... Well, maybe I'm getting used to scouse.. haha!

  • Carra, calm down! Haha. I watched one of Dirk Kuyt interviews before this and on there, they put, 'When Carra speaks too fast I have to say, yer wot?' xD

  • i undestand him perfectly.

  • that was so easy to understand

  • i think he chanted were shit, and we know we are, over and over

  • i think its just the non-scousers who find it hard to understand him

  • im american and i could understand him without the subtitles

  • this video is fucking awesome LOOOOOOL

  • well the man knows what to say...without breathing :D ! love him

  • Ironic that Carragher is being accused of butchering the English language when there are a multitude of spelling mistakes in the subtitles. I think my favourite was "defffinitely."

  • Bottler!

  • Carragher = Legend. YNWA

  • It sounds like Dutch

  • Fast-forwarded interview giver.

  • I understood every word but i did work in Bootle for 4 years.

  • Really any need for subtitles? Pathetic.

  • My reaction?

    I'll go for "what?"

  • Lets be honest, reading the subtitles made me struggle to follow. If just listen by ear I understand perfectly lol.

  • Hey, Subtitle Guy

    You mispelled 'definitely', genius.

    And 'disappointing'.

  • i think Kyrgiakos speaks better English

  • only non native English speakers might struggle to follow

  • I understood him perfectly fine without reading the subtitles this video is pointless...just an attempt to bash the scouse accent(and no im not scouse im irish)..well epic Fail on you video poster. That is all..... :D

  • this was in my college haha he came in gave me my coaching award an i shook his hand :P

  • HAHAHAHA!

  • I ignored the subtitles and understood it. I'm not scouse.

Also, he didn't butcher it. His sentences were grammatically correct, he just has a strong accent.

  • @GothicEmo1212 dude...

scouse can't even be called english,

generally accepted phonetic rules are thrown out the window up there...

  • erm, if it wasn't for the Scouse accent that would be easily understandable to anybody. Just because somebody talks with an accent doesn't mean they 'butcher the language'.

  • Just because you put in a fast-scrolling series of subtitles doesn't make this hard to understand.

  • I ignored the subtitles and understood EVERY word

  • HAHAHAHA Love this x'D <3

  • the only person who understands him is steven gerrard and vice versa

  • wtf.. is he broken? LOL

  • understood it all..like da queens English da...YNWA

  • he is not english he is a proud scouser .

  • thumbs up if you pause it.

  • I only understood about half that, and I'm a scouser.. -.-

  • i can understand every work perfectly .... only coz im a scousers. :)

  • This is simple to understand... Maybe united's foreign fans dont understand english

  • I can understand this with ease

  • He's being Ambiguous !!

  • I'm a United fan but I have to admit I admire players like Carragher. These are players who love football for what it is, never give anything lower than 100% and never get caught up with all the fame and money. You never saw guys like Scholes, Shearer and the lot caught in the papers everyday. It's not about the image, it's about football. I respect that.

  • @LightningDonkey That's why Steven Gerrard is my all time favourite player :)

  • @LightningDonkey finally a united fan who dosn`t talk bull shit. and i agree :)

  • @LightningDonkey i think the same way actually. It's nice to see people who have the same thught. In this world there is somuch negativty in futbol. but i find him to be an uplifting charicter

  • @LightningDonkey I think it's funny how he always pours water over himself just before getting interviewed to make it look like he's really put in a shift, to be fair he does put a shift in, but is still funny! I'm a United fan also!

  • @LightningDonkey When you say united, which team are you talking about?

  • definitely*

  • I understood only half of that.

  • Wow, he could be a Rapper.

  • Has anyone considered that the poor lad might be nervous ? Jamie Carragher is an upstanding member of our community he does a lot for charity so he should be applauded not ridiculed for his accent Get A Life losers. GO Jamie xxx

  • im not even from liverpool but its easy to understand! but the subtitle went to fast it hurt my eyes

  • Seriously, if you live in Northern England this is normal lol, especially if your near Liverpool haha. I can understand it without a problem xD

  • Im asian but i grew up in London. And still i couldnt understand him if not for the subtitles.

  • Is this meant to be a joke or is it for real?

  • OK, the scouse accent is fairly strong but could anyone spot any grammatical mistakes? I couldn't.

  • @gdsongwriter

Maybe if he threw in a comma, or a full stop once in a while. It would prolly make sence.

  • @gdsongwriter None at all !

  • @gdsongwriter More spelling mistakes in the subtitles, to be fair. LOL

  • @gdsongwriter I think I just noticed one grammatical error. The whole thing is one gigantic run on sentence!

  • i don't care the way how he speak..... he is such a good footballer!!! I LOVE LFC

  • im from chester, i hear this all the time

  • english is my second language and i understood every word of it ....

  • I'm a NZer and I understood every word, I think it would suck if english is you're second language. I love his scouse accent, beautiful.

  • im asian

american english is normal for me

british english is a little bit hard to understand

    scouse is OMGWTFBBQ

  • I couldnt read the subtitles :(

  • type cumbrian dialect into youtube im from cumbria in england and we use alot of our own words i understand the guy but anyone from somewhere else might not

  • I'm actually quite impressed that was rather posh for a scouser

  • im from glasgow and i understood every word he said duno what the issue is lol

  • Butcher the English language? Quite hypocritical considering it's "realise" not "realize".

  • @Jones064 just so you know, realise is correct if you're from another country that uses UK system of spelling.

  • I'm not English, I'm Scouse.

  • .....say whaaaaaat

  • I cant catch up lol

  • I'm a londoner; my uncles a scouse i live in london :( but this is perfectly understandable to me :)

Carra = Class player Class man

  • i love my being scouse

  • i grew up in the united states and i understand him

  • well i'm not from liverpool and i didnt have any problems with this

  • @jimmyshitbags Me too

  • @alilondonmet Play English?

  • that was about 3 sentences lol

  • Just because you live in a cotton wool ball in london doesnt make that stupid:L Can understand it perfectly, didn't even need to read the subtitles, your just an idiot

  • is he the scouser Twista or some shit, decent player and always speaks his mind

  • @MultiBrunolucas hahaha the scouser Twista..lol..he should be in that song "look at me now"

  • It really wasn't that hard to understand. Just the subtitles confused me greatly

  • Living in the North I understood all of that tbh.

  • @clockendboy living in the south and i got every word

  • I love his accent... can follow it so easily. :)

  • The man talks a mile a minute. He's almost as bad as me. I'm no Scouser, I'm actually American, but Scouse isn't too bad to understand.

  • haha im an aussie so whhhhhaaaaaaatttttttttt! haha

  • Overreacting, really. I'm from Norway, and understand Scouse perfectly fine.

  • @celebipaper ....bell end

  • @7in7in7in lol

  • i understand it perfectly........but i am scouse so.......

  • @19Wylds95 lol

  • this make perfect sense doesn't it? :S

just a bit of ignorance there from many parts of the UK if you ask me

  • we are not english we are scouse.

  • what????? that was AWESOME he could do a world record for that!

  • I definitely needed the undertitle...

  • londoner here, understood perfectly !
