so, this year during valentines day I went swing dancing, and tho I'm not single it was amazing for my un-single friends. Lots of cute, smart and 1950s style wannabe mamas. Like the song man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if you want directions to the abandoned metal structure let me know. --- peace
I love this Ibanez. I got it used a couple months ago (my first guitar). My only problem with it is that it doesn't have a cutaway. I like to stay tuned down to D, as you can tell in this video, so any high fret work is tough to pull off.
Really, for me, once I sit down and experiment with chord structure, the lyrics come easy. I've been writing poetry for so long, now, that writing lyrics to go along with music isn't too terribly hard. All I can say is just sit down and write what comes to you. You can always revise what you have, but the biggest step is just *starting.*
I'd love to hear what you have when you're done!
Cheers,
~Trevor
P.S. I'm flattered you'd consider me a pro musician. ^_^
You might want to start searching for your real parents because I'm fairly sure they mixed you up with some other non-talented baby at the hospital and we brought you home by accident.
Is this when we all confess our cliche love situations? Hm. Okay...
I met the perfect guy over winter break in Mexico. After 7 days we parted and I haven't seen him in 2 months. My heart still aches. I can't believe I shared this on youtube, of all places.
As bad as this may sound at first, I'm glad you miss him.
You're supposed to miss the people that make an impact on your life, whether it be for 7 days or 7 years. It hurts, it sucks, but it's necessary. I mean, do you *really* want to forget him, the short times you had together? I don't ever want to forget the happy moments of my life, even if they make me sad in the present.
I'm really glad you said something. You're infinitely more awesome because of it.
Really this is a great song. I know it tugged at my heartstrings. I think mostly because vday is tomorrow. One of the reasons I hate Vday. I think the commercialization of it makes people feel so alone. "There's gotta be someone in the world for me. I can't be alone" Beautiful.
It's nice to see couples that really care for each other on Valentine's Day. I'm not jealous at all. However, it ticks me off when people drop silly, commercial gifts on each other, make the day a spectacle, and throw out empty hugs and "I love you"s. I don't have the meaning behind the day, but I hate what the practice has become.
hm I haven't heard that view. It makes a lot of sense. I just think that the day is pointless. I mean if people need a special day to spend with their other how connected are they to the relationship. I don't know. I just haven't really ever seen the point in it.
Good song for us single people out there. Nothing like this time of year to remind us of the fact, eh? But, you're still young (comparatively) and I know your day will come. =)
It's a bit more frustrating to be my age (a few months from 26) and to not have found that one to settle down with. Not that I'm ready to do that right now, but ya...sucks when most of the ppl I know at my age are finding their "one".
anyways good song. opening lyrics remind me of that Nickelback song.
haha, sorry! good comment ruined? If it helps I was only comparing the lyrics, not your style or anything else. It's just a sentiment I guess that's shared among quite a few artists.
We're all looking. Lord knows I am. I don't think a part of me will wither away just yet in that sense until I actually stop looking. I can tell that you're being hopeful and maybe even optimistic. I like to go back and listen to Seussical's "It's Possible" when I feel I'm out of luck.
I hear hints of Neil Young, and the potential for a strong bass drum beat. (that's a good thing! ;-] )

dude I swear this is one the most fun songs to solo to. And it's really easy to solo to cause its just minor penatonic F! Nice song dude!

I'm really honored that you've played along with this song. Like, it's probably the coolest thing ever, in all seriousness.
I'm glad you like it!

Hehe!~
I've rewritten the chords it sounds much better. I think with the new sound it may work out better with lyrics.

Yay, now I know why you needed the word "apart." Yay I feel so special i contributed one word to this song. Lol.

should get "a part" of the royalties if this ever sells :-p
livin4hymn 3 years ago
Haha yes... so there's like 100 words in the song, so I should definitely be getting 1%. Woohoo! lol.

Although your other contributions would have worked nicely. Fart, chart, and tart would have been great. =P

haha Here's another single person who can relate. Only slightly reminds me of Rebecca St. James' "Wait For Me."
"Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you."

ah yes. I love that song. think it's in my "music videos" playlist...

Few things about Nickelback are good. Their songwriting ability I file under "EPIC FAIL."
I accept your apology. =P
