Someone did an interview with Martin after the album came out. It seems she was looking for a sound that she didn't think he was capable of doing.

If I'm not mistaken, Keltner did some time as one of the rotating drummers the band had while Martin was out. I do know that he was one of the drummers who contributed a solo to Roger Daltrey's "Under a Raging Moon"--which Martin also played on (his is the second solo).
