When John changed his name from John Winston Lennon to John Winston Ono Lennon he changed the number of his name from 1 to 9. This was done to emulate the role that Mary Magdalene played in the plan of Jesus Christ. When the numerological value of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene are merged together they total 9 as well.
