beautiful hymn, to God be the glory and what a beautifulllllllllllllllllllllll girl in 0:46" really very beautiful God bless her...... regards from Colombia...
The organist looks very young, I wonder if anyone knows who it is, he's very good. Nice and polished. The choir was excellent and yes, it is good to hear young people singing hymns.
I'm young Southern Baptist and it makes me happy to see a full choir singing hymns....this is so rare...the mormons and catholics makes us look bad and its good to see us still out there doing things the old and right way!
Isaac Watts wrote some 600 hymns. This is considered one of if not the best hymns written in the English language. Thanks for the posting with the backgrounds.
I got to sing this while I was in the Florida's Ambassadors of Music on a tour of Europe. .. Amazing! I love this song. It was the most wonderous feeling singing it for a mass over in England. Very well done. By the way this is a very hard peice to sing the choir is on flat ground and the dumb conducter puts the boys in front of the girls. . .grrr. . .Tipy toes only go so far!
The KY Baptist All-State Youth choir and orchestra is doing this one this year! I'm so glad I found you guys doing it. It makes it so much easier to learn! (:
we have song this song like for 6 years in a row at my school and we all love this song we sing it a little diffrently but i love it more and more every year! and we are taking it to contest this year! (first year that has happend)
We sang a slightly different arrangement of this for tenebrae on Good Friday, and I have to say you seem to have capture the mood of this piece MUCH better than us. (Although this was after we had sung for 4 other masses, so by the time we got to this piece, we were about ready to collapse.) Good Job! ^.^
I sung this arrangement of this hymn at Sierra Vista First Baptist Church in Arizona while i was there for AIT. Roger was a wonderful conductor and miss the whole choir.
Bravissimo! I sang that song with a traveling Baptist choir when I was around 18 or 19. I couldn't believe I had spent my whole live in the Assembly of God and missed out on such a good hymn! This was very well sung and I can't help but wonder if the kids understand the archaic lyrics. I guess that depends on their education.
we're singing this song at my school, even though we have a choir of... well barely 12 =) this is a beautiful piece and you guys sound amazing. It's great to be able to actually hear all of the parts..

I have sung this anthem with my church choir for many years during Lent. It is so beautiful with the young voices.
