I think the movie can be reworked to features the more specific story of the book. But even as is with its flaws the theatrical movie is a visual, stylistic and musical treat. 8-10

Best to read the book before reviewing the movie. The 2 basic idffs tween the book and movie are that in the book the struggle is between 2 cosmic alliances, one darwinistic one cooperative who have fought over the universe for billions of years. In the movie its portrayed as some sort of ying yang where absolute negative (evil) meets absolute positive (good) and both annihiliate antimatter style when the good side character decides its the only way to finally stop the evil character.
