I love this song I have got all of Alice Cooper's CDs and I have got all of his DVDs as well Especially Brutally Live and Live From Montreux Eric Singer's Drumming is really heavy and he plays the drums brilliantly especially when Alice Cooper let's him play his drums on his own and even when he has fire at the end of his drumsticks which is amazing I like Eric Singer playing drums for Alice Cooper and Kiss as well you can hear how heavy his drumming style is and that is fantastic from alihoward
This song represents a very dangerous attitude among young people that makes them feel invincible (due to drugs, booze, or just insanity) and sends them on the path to destruction.
Look at the London riots. Or the Columbine shootings. Must be some of that attitude in there.
I am 32 and damned angry but I just stay indoors and pump out the music
I think it's more about the fact that people today don't have the same connection to history and their roots than they had before, forget about history and are doomed to repeat it. Not because they are insane.
@wandererlain But because they want to rebel and as always, the best way to rebel is to use the things we are denies. In this case, the Nazi symbolism. Most young people don't even know about how The Third Reich managed to raise to power, because we are too afraid to tell them. This makes it easier for them to start following Neo-Nazism.
Also, London Riots were more about social differences that were fuelled by criminals into full riots rather than young people rebelling.
@DaiderSanto I think these sort of people are just little idiots who would find any excuse to blow things up and yes, they are completely ignorant of history and all of its consequences. Note the lyrics, "Not the games I play, movies I see, music I dig". They have everything materially but not a lot upstairs.
You misunderstood what he meant the media and the elft wing blame the shootings and bombings by angsty teens on metal music, violent video games and violent movies. Alice is basically saying they are not the reasons why and that people don't want to face the truth that these teens were angry and were born to kill. It is human nature and the natur eof life itself balance must be preserved. It is why wars and disease exist to keep population under control.
London riots and beyond were fueled by immigrants, offspring of immigrants and the white trash who blindly follow MTV,Anti police music and hip hop.
The next stage of the Third Reich is coming the higher ups are there, the funding is there and the European stage is practically set. I can see the next one beginning in Britain it is ripe for ultra nationalism.
@poeticpoverty I think I saw an interview a while ago where manson confirmed that he took the idea for his name from alice Cooper... still... i like Manson. No one beats Alice, but I think Manson is a solid musician, specially if you look at all the Jonas Brothers and justin Biber bullshit that today's children love....
@gamesandrockroll I'm not sure you can call Manson a "musician." He's more of a vocalist, and a song writer (assuming he writes most of his songs). Nevertheless, I like Manson's songs too.
Anyways. I think this song is still relevant today. Especially since all the publicity from the congresswoman recently shot, and all the media talking about why he did it. He was obviously fucked in the head. There's no point trying to make sense of it. He is a "wicked young man."
saw him at sonisphere friday...don't think there was a space in the arena when he was on...a shot of the audience was on the screen and it was piled all back and padded out the sides. Mindblowing show and an audience he deserved. :-)
Orginally the Swastika wasn't a bad sign, the Word means "The good things" or "All things who make happy" and the Nazis used it for thier work -.- shame if you ask me to use a good sign for bad.....
@95holydiver Everything Hitler used was stolen from the Romans. And they weren't bad. They brought us wonderful things like sewers and surgery, as well as literature, philosophy and the list goes on and on and on...
@MadPyrotechnicus That's bullshit. He didn't steal anything other than the icons, which were never 'rightfully' anyone's. Other than Hitler slaughtering 'millions' he did a lot of good work for Germany in its time of depression. Example, "Government spending rose, 1932–38 from about 5 billion to 30 billion marks.", "Unemployment fell from nearly 6 million to virtually nothing.", "He began one of the most expensive and effective tobacco movements throughout history." The list can go on and on
@SubinaTub I'm sorry but I think there is a translation problem. I think copied would be better than the word stolen. Secondly: I never said anything about Hitler, only about the Romans and that the connection between those two are widely misunderstood and considered bad or "evil", if you will.
A rise in government spending can probably be attributed to the war, and wasn't the Deutsch Mark inflated like shit back then? I mean, didn't you have to give a wheelbarrow of bills to buy an egg or something?
Unemployment possibly fell due to Germany being under the Nazi regime, and in a world war.
"Unemployed? It's blitzkrieg motherfucker! Take this Mauser and get to the front line or we'll shoot you!"
Tobacco? Eh, I don't care. People can do whatever they want with their bodies.
@95holydiver an upside down swastika means peace, the nazi's turned it around to mean something other than peace. Just wanted to add that to your statement :D
evilderrick418, you are right. Alice Cooper is better than Ozzy Osbourne. Ever since Ozzy sang Changes with his daughter Kelly, he has turned into a pop icon. What a fucking sell out. Alice Cooper will rule forever! And stay Metal.
@LogicalThinkingGamer alice makes gene simmons and paul stanley look like greedy buisness men,, alice loves his fans,, he doesnt exploit them like kiss,,, and i love kiss,, but their attitude sucks towards their fans
@twostix67 I love Kiss too and love to see them in concert, but Genne and Paul *are* greedy businessmen. Agreed on Alice 100%, he gives his fans respect.
@twostix67 Regardless of how awesome Alice is, and he is, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley ARE greedy business men. They weren't rock stars to make music but to make money.

I think it might have something to do with power.
There was an electric company in Sweden that used to have a swastika as a logo, but when WW2 started poking it's head, they changed that.
This is a very good album though.

@95holydiver actually it is still used by eastern societies to celebrate weddings and births and such that is where hitler got the sign from
