I agree this video may the best of the series. I always say "The problem of the photographers is that they think as photographers" Many times you should think as a business person. Being a good photographer also means you and the people you love has all they need to be ok. Off course this requieres money.
GREAT VIDEO MARK..... i LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEO, IT WILL BE VERY NICE OF YOU IF YOU LET US KNOW ABOUT SOME AVAILABLE INTERNSHIP AS AN ASSISTANT TO SOME PHTOGRAPHER.
Great video with solid tips. Re: joining PPA, I also recommend considering joining ASMP, the American Society of Media Photographers (disclaimer: I am a member and the VP of the Colorado Chapter). Both groups offer photographers access to a wealth of information related to the business of photography.
This is the best, most concise video about pricing/rates I have ever seen. Thanks for being willing to talk so openly about this subject. Many other photographers/businesses owners are afraid to share such info.
Thanks loads for this video Mark. You've helped me understand the way I could calculate my costs for not only photography, but my other ventures too.. Keep them coming!
Nice presentation mark,My name is Kazeem TJ. I have kids lenses with my rebel T1i and 7D.Do I need to get prime lens before I can take good pictures or I should get Adobe light room 3? Help me out and How can I see your presentation that you did last month?I really like your show.
when you charge a full day or half day, how many hours is the differences? and when you talked about rental gear is that an realistic number used, I never see rental costs being that cheap?
Such a great video! I'm struggeling with exact that problem these weeks, as I'm getting more jobs for my part-time business.
Until now I've just thrown in a price, whenever somebody wanted to hire me, but I had some jobs, which turned out to actually not get me an hourly income more than 4-5$... Sucked, but tought me something about doing business!!
Thanks Mark, Snap-Factory and Adorama - just love you all!
Hey Mark, your videos are simply amazing! - organized, informative, to the point and very interesting to watch! I have seen every single episode your series and picked up tons of concepts.I must say, of all the video tutorials I have seen by far, your's are the BEST! I completely love this series..please keep posting!
Great Stuff!!! I feel that a LOT of people need to understand this. I personally know many people who started out the wrong way by under charging and or not charging and lost all interest in photography as a business.
Lots of good info, very time consuming at first but very important to fully understand to get things started and keep them rolling, thanks for this video.
