By 1943 standard in today’s dollars a PFC’s pay, foreign duty and combat bonus amounted to 2,943 dollars per month. Sergeant with sufficient time-in-service and assuming sharpshooter, amounted to 4,185 dollars per month.
Hazardous Duty Incentive Pay for a paratrooper was 1,887 per month in today’s dollars. A PFC’s aircrew Incentive Pay was 940 dollars a month, and that was 1,320 dollars per month for a Sergeant.
@Shinodude777 tell you the truth it kinda feels like being shit out at high speed too lol when the prop blast hits you it scares yea more than you think
@MrParatrp You don't jump out of a 141 .... you walk out at a 45 degree angle, well you kinda get sucked-out. Jumping can cause the jet to melt your chute! I didnt like 141's ..... Chopper blast's are the funnest.
@TheSerenity63 I wanted to say that, but forgot how to describe that act. "Kicking off" is just right. I remember sitting there with my feet dangling over the edge and the Huey going almost straight up, making a feeble pretense of a pass and the jump master pointing at me and telling me it was time to push off. The fall before the parachute deployed was so peaceful - totally different from that half-run out of the roaring C130 or the scary turbulence of the fall from the C141.
I give one thing to the ARMY, it's the mass-tac jump. I did one with the British and some 82nd back in '96 Purple Star while I was with 4th ANGLICO, USMC... There's nothing like seeing so much Hate and Discontent raining down on you when you are the enemy. Knowing that in about 90 seconds, you are about to be overwhelmed by superior fire and assault. Go Army!!! Besides, that's some pretty crazy shit!!! Army knows there jumpin'!!! Marine Corps knows the rest...
Legs I do not like them. I removed mine, now I can carry a bigger ruck sack.

@TheSerenity63 Yes. The C141s were not as fun as running off the ramp of a Chinook.
