I'm no laser sailor at all, in fact I've never been on one, but why do so many in these clips keep losing the halyard on the spinnaker? Surely it isn't that difficult for the spinnaker to stay up, I've never had a problem losing the spinnaker halyard on any of the vessels I've been on...

@IZBEVER You really don't have to be loaded to sail, you can get boats of ebay really cheap, and sailing in strong winds out at sea can takeguts, so don't go judging sports coz you havent tried them properly.

@vineyardman100 i've been crewing for my dad since christmas so i'm new aswell its just hard the first 3 or 4 times on the wire then you get used to it, keep legs and back straight to get your weight as far back as possible :) there are probably tips for trapezeing on youtube the spinnaker just takes getting used to and lots of practice and preporation before you start is always a good idea (just check if it twisted and the knots are tied properly) :D

@4155788910 Mate, well done on the Opti's, but you wouldn't want to make a swap from there onto such a fast boat. If you were going from Opti's and want to go into the double handers I would say a Feva... but it all depends on your weight and size really. I sail a 29er a world level!

Yes, un-cleat main when tacking (1:47 and 2:42); also hike, bear off early in puffs (:44), pull in the main to prevent death roll (:33, :39, :54), weight back, steer not to submarine, keep balance (easy to say). And when you do go over, don't climb over the high side if your weight will drive mast down, duck under for board or jump off (skipper at 5:45). Windward capsize, jump in under board at 3:18 (far left), hug it / hold rail, ride to new high side & stand up! Been there, done all of these!

Thanks for posting this. Eaxactly WHY I do not like sailing and failed Junior Sailing classes. Hard to concentrate when your systems are in full PANIC!!!
