There are too many old school ppl who get stuck in yesterday that they are the exact reason the scene wont grow..cuz they wont let it. Yes I wish the days were back when it was more of a personal, underground thing. But things change.

There are plenty of bands who write lyrics about the world today and whats going on...not just about repping crews or being tough. And you gotta remember that the issues in 1983 arent going to be the same in 2008.

Hardcore these days doesnt have a defined sound. Yes in the beginning there was a specific sound to it. But it's ppl who bitch about how this aint real hardcore or it's not as good as "back in the day" that ruin hardcore. If all the bands today sounded like yesterdays bands then you'd be yelling none of us are original. I love Cro-Mags, I love Rest In Pieces..but do I wanna sound like them? NO.

i really don't have a problem with the music, it's not my favorite but that's not my point. hardcore was something that happened when a bunch of people were tired of the music and events surrounding them, and wanted to do something new. all these guys are doing is yelling about being tough, and hardcore pride. that's nothing new. and there are plenty of good hardcore bands around that's a weak excuse to say that's this is the best of new hardcore, this is metalcore at best.

Cause the cool thing to do is go to shows, so yea your gonna see a whole bunch of kids going to shows that don't have any idea what Hardcore is about. But as for this video, music is always changing. There are plenty of different types of Hardcore music. And this is as real as newer Hardcore is gonna get.

i agree wit christian, ima relatively new kid but and im comin up in nyc with bands like los and 36df, hardcore is about the attitude, you cant catagorize it specifically by sound cuz there are many real hardcore bands and they dont all sound the same or like the first hc bands.

And to the guy stating what real hardcore is...I agree that all those bands are the pioneers and originals...But I also grew up in this scene you go and ask guys in Agnostic Front, Madball, Skarhead, Maximum Penalty, NRSV, H2O, Merauder and other great NYHC bands if we're hardcore and I guarantee you they tell yes. I and my band grew up in this scene.
