What a blessing to have these Mormon Messages. I just happened to find this web sight by accident, but the messages were not a accident, but a gift. Thank you.
I do testify to anyone reading this that if you belive that god guides your life then there is a reason why you are reading this now. I explored every religion out there in my 45yrs and none other offers what this one does nor promises what this one does. God be with you.
why not believe? there are so many reason TO believe but why not believe? do we all need to be drug through terrible times and then have a miracle happen for us to believe? I do not need to have a miraculous miracle to believe in the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints. Just test it. it will show you that it is true....
By a persons example you will know them. The happiest people I know belong to the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and who try to keep gods commandments. I have seen it change peoples lives for real good. I am getting baptised with my husband next week as we feel it is the right thing to do for us. It has made our marriage so much better already.
@lidja2011 That's great! I am so happy for you, the Church is truly a great thing. It really does bring happiness. All of the things my parents and me and my siblings went through seemed easier knowing the Lord was watching over us.
I know that the Bible is the word of God. I also know that the Book of Mormon is as much the world of God as is the Bible. Anyone who reads the Book of Mormon will come to know that this is true as much as the Bible is true.
I know that Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it teaches about Jesus Christ and that all that is in the Book of Mormon really occurred. I have come to know that of myself and cannot deny it. Anyone who reads the Book of Mormon can come to know that if the read and ask God in prayer with a sincere heart.
I truly know that the LDS church is the true church. I am so blessed to be a member and have this wonderful gospel in my life. I am truly thankful for Jesus and for the sacrifice that he made for all of us. When I listen to the profit and the apostles speak I know that they are truly messengers of God. I would tell anyone if you are doubtful please open your hearts and get down on your knees and ask of the Lord. in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I remember this talk!! Watching this video brought me to tears!
I testify and know that Jesus Christ is my savior. I was baptized about 2 years ago, and I know that He is the only source of TRUE happiness.
The greatest blessing of my life is to know His Gospel, to have a prophet to guide us in the latter-days, and to have my Savior as a perfect example to follow.
October 2008. You can go to the Church's website and re-read the whole address if you want. It's a relatively short one. I love Bro. Andersen's talks.
I've been doing a lot of soul searching as of late. I don't know that I can ever place faith beyond what I can see and touch. But I will say, I have nothing but absolute respect for the LDS church. What is it to truly be bold in your faith? I think it is more that just standing for what you believe in. I think it is also responding with patience, understanding, and forbearance to others when they seek to tear down your faith. If God spoke once, why not twice? Why not a thousand times?
"Vital religion cannot be maintained on the theory that... the Bible is the only evidence that our God is a living, revealing, communicating God. If God ever spoke, He is still speaking. He is the great I am, not the great He was." -Rufus Jones
He does speak today, sirnathan. Even a thousand times. You say you don't know that you can ever place faith beyond what you can see and touch. You ask what it is to be truly bold in your faith...you can know if you want. I think you do.
@shandikk your correct but please understand that the Jesus that Mormons believe in is not the Jesus that Christians and the Bible believe in. Not to mention the fact that the Bible and The Book of Mormon are not compatible. Need more info on that? Just ask. Mormonism will never be Christian because of this. Main stream Christains will all agree with me. Over 15 billion of us now world wide :)
But I love Mormon people. Some of the best people I have ever met were Mormon. May God bless you!
@ZantorAmar Considering that there are about 7 billion people in the world, I'm going to go ahead and say you need to do some fact checking. And not just about the world's population.
@thezooprincess Sorry for the misquote on the Christian population lol Forgive me please. Currenty 78.4% of the U.S. is Christian and 1.7% of that is Mormon. Grats Mormons it looks like the U.S.Gov recognizes you as Christian. I still dont understand why the so called "Main Stream" Christians say that they do not accept Mormons as Christians. Please understand that I have many good Mormon friends and am in no way a Mormon basher. Thanks in advance for the reply and info.
@ZantorAmar thats not true we do believe in the same jesus that the bible and christians believe in. i have a question for you have you read the book of mormon? if not then please do and you will see that the bible and the book of mormon are so different yet so smilier. we are in church for God and we know that it is true because God told us. but thank you for the nice remarks i am writing to help to understand.
@shandikk I guess I don't believe in religion... I believe it is only a relationship through faith in Christ Jesus that I am saved... I believe the Bible is the only evidence for God....there is physical evidence of it. and Hebrews says that the Bible is living and active, sharper than any sward. 2Tim 3:16 says it is inspired by God, Jesus said Heaven and Earth shall Pass away but my words shall not pass away. Mat. 24:35; Mk.13:31
@minpinlover26 Why would you need physical evidence if you say that all it takes is Faith? If you have faith then why not believe in the Book of Mormon? No physical evidence is needed when you have faith.
The Lord loves you - you are his child. I would encourage you with all my love to seek out the missionaries of the Lord's church - The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. Please seek them out and learn how HIS gospel can bless your life.
I testify that the Healing Power of Jesus Christ transformed my life...I was Baptised on March 21, 2009, and since becoming a Member of the Church, Blessings have rained down upon me. At times, I am overwhelmed by it all. It is truly humbling.
When you seek the Truth with a sincere heart, Heavenly Father will provide you with the answers (Moroni 10:3-5).
And oh how we need God to be speaking more now then we ever have during any period of time throughout all history. He speaks, my life is a witness of that, and it can be in your life too. Thanks for your respect for what we believe, I don't know what faith you are of, but I respect that as well.
I have not seen nor touched my brain, yet I know it's there. I recognize it's presence as I recall things of my past. It is by my faith I am able to correctly describe what my life was like while away from the tender mercies of our Lord and Savior.
My faith has also allowed me to experience the blessings of our loving God, as I realize He has absolved my sins.
I have not seen nor touched him. Yet, I don't need to to believe. I know He lives, just as I know I have a brain.
@sirnathan I commend this man. Keep trying, my friend, you can come to the knowledge if you have patience. He wants you to know Him more than you long to know Him.
@sirnathan It seems as if you have already begun to put faith in something you cannot see or touch. If you think it is more than simply standing for what you believe and responding with patience, understanding and forbearance, then how have you not put faith in something you can't see?
@sirnathan You described everything I've been trying to explain for 3 years as I've tried to join the church. I finally did (with my parents there) and they've finally seen what you just said. Why NOT?! This is a good thing. A beautiful thing. Keep soul searching and I hope you find what you deserve :)
We may not be able to see or touch what we believe in, but we can feel it through the power of the Holy Ghost. That's how we know! And I know that you can receive the same witness. :)
download 'youtube downloader' its free and there is a youtube video that you can watch that tells you how to get it..it a great program and it will convert the video to wmv file which allows you to make your own video on windows movie maker

The Bible says, In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established" So to answer your question I guess the right way to put it would be we make Christ the center of our religion and the Book of Mormon and the Bible both testify of him.
I have heard Elder Andersen preach about the bible too. This is just a talk among many other talks he gave. We do read the bible and preach from the bible. The book of Mormon is more for our day, it goes in hand with the bible. It really does. X
The entire Christian world has just the Bible and there are over a thousand different Christian churches with seperate beliefs and interpretations. I agree. The only way to KNOW that the Bible is true the same we we know the Book of Mormon is true: study, ponder, and pray; the Holy Ghost will confirm it.
For example, Gladys Knight... Of course, if you live in a city or town where there are very few blacks, you'll probably see very few, if any, black LDS. However, if you go to, say, New ORleans, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Africa, etc, and go to an LDS chapel on any given Sunday, you'll see many, many black members. They'll probably think that the Curch doesn't allow whites...hehe, just kidding...
Black people have always been able to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Blacks were eligible to recieve the priesthood on June 9,1978.
lib103 is correct; Official Declaration 2 in the Doctrine and Covenants is the letter that was presented and sustained unanimously and with tears of joy by the membership of the Church, offering the Priesthood to all worthy men regardless of race. There was never a restriction on joining the Church by race; there were some early saints who were freed slaves.
I hope we've cleared that up for you, walkwithears :) It's refreshing to see a question like that asked honestly and without contention.
A bit of a misconception, that's ok. Black people have always been able to be members, the confusion arises out of a period of time that ended in 1978 where black men were not able to hold the priesthood. A revelation granted to President Spencer W. Kimball in the spring of 1978 resulted in all worthy men receiving the priesthood - thanks for asking the question.

Yes, this is an official channel of the church! It's a brilliant idea, and the videos are inspiring. My fave, thus far, is "Create" with President Uchtdorf.
Actually this is an excerpt from the Sunday morning session. The talk is entitled Come Unto Him, given by Elder Neil L. Andersen. The full text and audio are available on the church website. (There is video available as well, but I can't seem to get the player to work to verify if this particular talk is available).
i love this talk. you dont know everything, but you know enough. this talk made me like him more. the message was from General Conference, Oct, 2008. :)

Actually this is an excerpt from the Sunday morning session. The talk is entitled Come Unto Him, given by Elder Neil L. Andersen. The full text and audio are available on the church website. (There is video available as well, but I can't seem to get the player to work to verify if this particular talk is available).

Wrong conference, sorry, IvyDesign.
Try the October 2008 conference, Saturday morning session, and it was titled "You Know Enough".

Another great Vid. Obviously the Lord once again chose wisely his newest apostle. The spirit of the Lord is clearly within this man.
