This trailer is so much better than the actual film, it's criminal. When I first saw this in the theater I was excited; when I saw the finished product, I laughed at the screen, as did most of the audience. Possibly the worst big-budget, big-box-office film of the 90s.

During the making of this film the military agreed to provide anything the filmmakers needed, planes, helicopters, uniforms you name it., but only on one condition. Removal of Area 51 from the script. But since Area 51 is an important part of the story they didn't remove it. So the military withdrew its support. Neverthless it is a great movie. That's why I admire Roland Emmerich.
