Well, I have one of these machines and NO, it does not scratch if you do it right.REmember, the steam is also under pressure so it is actually also pushing the dirt away. If car is really dirty, I prefer to give a quick rinse of microfibre cloth at about half way through. You don't have to put any pressure either. I run a car detail business so I am speaking from experience.
For one, you rinse the car first to get rid of the dirt and bigger particles on the car. Then you use a soapy sponge to clear away the rest and then rinse it out in a rinse bucket. That's how you're supposed to do it. I don't see it being more efficient either. Looks like it takes forever. And most soaps are not harmful to the environment, so whatever.
Its very hard to show just how good this is on a video, we all have our own views on how best to clean a car, if you have never seen or used this system how can you justify your comment thats it wiil scratch the car to crap and its no good !
Easy. No rinsing = no pre wash dirt removal. The cloth you are using it never rinsed either which means it keeps all the dirt that is on the car in the cloth. Steam would be good for getting grease and dirt out of the engine bay, but that's about it.
Well i guess we will have to agree to differ here. If you ever get a chance to see a car being cleaned with a steam wash machine take the time to watch just how well it cleans, you may well be suprised.
All my customers have nothing but praise and come back time and time again.
