You can say that whatever we are is limited, its limited to what we can experience with this body, touch, vision, smell and thought ect. We can not share thoughts with others or have same experience so we are limited in some aspects, this shows a division in whatever u may call this "energy" from one entity to another.

It seems to me that experiencer is not the final "I", but still a part of the "dream". The "reality"/"consciousness, you name it, from my experience, seem to not perceive the world any longer. It just is it, all of it, the perceiver/experiencer comes with the appearance of "I" (body/mind identification).

I don't follow the logic here. The act of self-awareness (the ability to be aware of or observe one's own mind or self) does not prove that the mind is infinite. Certainly not in and of itself. A computer can do calculations about itself. That does not make its hard drive infinite.

There is an I. Why is there not an "I"?

People selling "the answer" provide people with something that people wish they had, but it gives them nothing but "peace of mind"

You can get that by not searching for meaning. There is none.

This "answer" is as worthless as getting peace of mind by believing you have the "god's book" in your possession.

i wonder if this isn't a bit weak. the speaker hasn't answered the nyaya logician who says enlightenment is my own enlightenment. 'i' as spira employs it is a personal realization...so it is not as if oneness is about understanding other minds or dissolving one's personal consciousness in some cosmic oceanic bliss... the bliss is very subjective.. as spiro says: the 'i' looks at the mind, body and the world. but it is obviously still mine...and not someone else's... so, a limited oneness

@kingofaikido I tend to agree, in particular he hasn't answered the question at the beginning to part 3: why - if consciousness or what I am is not limited - is it that it experiences life from a particular POV and is associated with one body more than with another. The speaker then evades and leads us to the truth that all sensations aren't "out there". That doesn't explain why I don't have access to all sensations of all beings.

@kingofaikido The are trying to get around the fact that there is indeed an individualized aspect of the Divine operating behind the mind and body - regardless of whether this individualized aspect is eternal or ultimately dissolved. The reason, IMO, they are trying to explain it away is because they simply do not really see the spiritual anatomy of man ...

@ideasforfeeling as ramana and papaji often said, mind [which i think is the entity most of us believe ourselves to be] is nothing but a bbundle of thoughts. can amind exist w/o thoughts? is there some thing that exists outside thoughts that sometimes thinks them and is sometimes quiet [never in my case]? but i'm with you. i feel to exist in my head and can control a limited no. of things in my awareness i.e. my body. very few see the truth of their non existence.

@ideasforfeeling whose arm? pseudo volition does not equal an entity. and a neurosurgeon could make that arm move too. u can move your arm if the the thought occurs to you to do so but can you will that thought? some force other than you brought that idea to move your arm in to your head including other thoughts like "no, it was me that thunk that and me who moved the arm." all thoughts arrive like that, there really is no mind which chooses to think certain thoughts and perform certain actions
