depends on application, for burning things its important to consider the target absorption spectrum, low infrared works best on most materials, on black it might not matter as much, but keep in mind that black (to the human eye) isn't always pure black. in this video i specifically used green matches to absorb as much red as possible.

just get the module... it needs a good focusing lens otherwise it doesn't burn, you have to focus it to a point.
