  • We don't go to Ravenholm. It's a bad part of the city.

  • This song if wired because by defauly it's unticked on the music selection options

  • This plays at the region selection screen, it's not rare, but yea creepy.

  • This has a real Neverhood feel to it. Remember, walking around that creepy, abandoned town?

  • I love how the ending almost tries to get happy

  • SIm City 4....the last great Sim City game. Here's ot hopign EA doesn't abandon the series in favor of other titles.

  • Yep. If I ever write a horror story, and there is ever a seen where a character's face melts off of their muscle tissue, this is the song that will help me.

  • This reminds me of the Flood from Halo...

  • this song plays when giygas plays SimCity

  • Actually, I like parts of this song. Is that normal?

  • Listening to this at 2:30 in the morning, scared sh!tless.

  • I think they chose to turn it off because it's...lacking compared to everything else. Severely lacking. <<;

  • @Leafiafan It is anything but lacking! it isnt on because of the creepyness compared to the upbeat tone of the game!

  • @1freak1015 It IS lacking when you compare it to the rest of the music in-game.

  • I listened to this on media player with the "i see the truth" thing, and at one verse, it looked like a black hole-ish eye looking at me..

  • lol but this song is only one that is automatically unchecked on the button in the music list after i installed sim city 4...i know why they unchecked this song XP so scaryyy

  • I remember when I used to play this game when I was eight. The first time this song came on, I crapped myself. I couldn't play it for weeks after. It was the same with The Sims after the first time the Grim Reaper came...

I was such a pussy hahaha

  • you know what I just realized.... there's no scary option in the list of reactions.

    Youtube needs to change that

  • When I hear this iI think a little city growing up and becoming a biiiiiiiiiig metropole

  • This plays during terraforming before you start actually building a city, but it's not rare during that period of gameplay - it might actually be the only song that plays.

  • This is the music that plays when Obama is playing the game.

  • this song used to play sometimes when i would switch cities... lol in the city il hear nice progressive music.. then the region im lik ... uhhh mmm *scared lol

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • i like this music :D

  • @jcdenton100 Me to!! <3 :D

  • Sounds like the BGM of the Floating Islands of TR 2 :)

  • This makes me want to stab myself........

  • wut

  • This one time I was building lots of Residential zones and then they stopped being built after several were. I think I reached my max build on residential buildings XD.

  • i hate this song so much, i unchecked it

  • @Randoman35 lo me too

  • mumy in scard

  • WHY IS IT UNSELECTED? EVIL SONG?

  • This isn't selected at first because if you do select it, it plays first every single time you start up the game.

  • i think this is supposed to reference the subconscious horror of The Sims.

you create your own city, often leaving the citizens groveling in filth and decay. you create volcanoes and meteor showers, destroying the city and killing millions, simply for fun. you control people's lives, with them not aware of it, forcing them to hate and die, forcing them to be sad or happy, to sleep or not to sleep, to take away all freedom. you are soulless. you are evil. you are madness incarnate.

    This is hell

  • @Wireless1016 My cities are always happy, and I do the best for my citizens.

  • This music sounds like something from Bear McCreary's Battlestar Galactica soundtracks.

  • @Torqual No wait - it's Eric Serra's soundtrack to Leon.

  • lol this was playing fairly loud. my mum was like "that doesn't sound like studying"

  • In the hours I played this game... I think I heard this song once

  • This tune scares me....

  • "I'll cut back on funding. What's the worst that could happen?"

  • This song reminds me of public bathrooms.

  • It sonuds like if you play this game and then your whole computer will go off and then it truns on again and what do you see is"To lose the game, you must destory your city and hear this." This is EA dark side of gaming. It tells you that all of your games that is not EA made is gone, Your game consloe and PC are now under there contorl and you are there slave for life. EA have it evil side.

  • This reminds me of the shadow temple from LOZ

  • Game over song?

  • This song makes me scared at night.

  • That knocking sounds like someone is going to kidnap me when I was playing Simcity 4 last night o_o

  • Comment removed

  • This could have been used for the Dark Agon Wastes theme in Metroid Prime 2 Echoes

  • The song that plays if Ed Ward is not elected mayor

  • This reminds like I'm walking in Abandoned Town or Hospital

  • creepy.

  • I imagine a barren mars like surface

  • This song was prob made to be playing when there is a disaster happening

or when maybe when the alien ship is coming....

  • I saw this song was unchecked in the song list so I decided to play it. It freaked me out. I did hear growling in the actual song, but here I don't.

  • this song scared the crap out of me the first time i heard it.. i was like 10 lolol

  • looks like what Sunn O))) would do

  • A lot of SC4 songs were recycled into SPORE, and i think this one should have as well...

  • Sounds like life just beginning, nothing but the sound of wind, everything is barren rock while in some small pool of water the simplest cells are beginning to multiply. The start of a great journey.

  • I imagine a dark city, filled with the grim remains of the days of old. A testament to the folly of man. The dark, teared skeletons of the former skyscrapers are like dead bodies, stuck in an expression of horror and pain, like if they died trying to reach the sky to escape the death on the city. Only smoke and ashes remains now, with the bodies of the unknown residants of the civilization of the past laying on the street, and this song, playing in the background.

  • shadow temple

  • This song makes me think of a dark graveyard, especially in the beginning. The end of the song is almost happy, but it isn't, almost like the future is uncertain. There is only the hope that life could get better, but there is no guarantee.

It also sounds pretty "nightmare-ish." I could imagine running in a dark graveyard, and trying to escape an evil force. Maybe that's a metaphor for deeply impoverished cities. People can't get out - They're just waiting to die there - A 'graveyard.'

  • Sound like a sad christmas.

  • It would be perfectly fitting as the theme song for an Eldritch Abomination. A being imperceptible to the poor tiny sims sitting below in their simmish town. The creature behind the mask of 'mayor', taking joy in both amorally building up a mighty and successful town, driving it into the ground, and sending down tornadoes and aliens and monsters before finally ruining his creation in a rapture of game-overness.

That or what happens to the sims when the game crashes.

  • Sounds like Sim City 4 turned into Fallout 3, if ya know what I mean.

  • "Primordial dream"...

I believe its meant to be the lack of sentience in a metaphorically primal being. For instance, a mayor who has not only reduced his entire population of 1, 309, 238 into rubble, but radiating them in the process for the purpose of churning a massive stew of radioactive Sim in which case they will die an excruciating death and transform into radioactive super zombies could be considered a "brute" or "beast".

  • 4 people shat their pants while hearing this.

  • This should be the song that plays when you get run out of town.

  • this will be on my revenge play list when i need to get revenge on someone ill listen to this as im walking

  • ~looks over shoulder!~ >.>

  • That song should totally have been featured in Fallout...

  • sounds like a bad trip, man!

  • This song played throughout my Junior High school eryday

  • bass drum sounds like evil zombies or something trying to bust a door down >.<

  • @TehCheezBurgrz That Reminds me like Zombie Outbreak o.O

  • I can see why this song would be rare. It sounds like your exploring L.A. after an apocolyptic nuclear war.

  • sounds like it should be in a Resident Evil

  • It kind of gives me a "in the beginning there was nothing" feeling

  • oh god, it sort of reminds me of that one theme in Fallout, the church theme (it also played when you'd come across ruined cities on the world map. Maybe it was meant for a city that was really bad, lots of pollution, maybe a nuclear power plant exploded, uninhabitable.

  • Strange how for me it was always this or "Area 52" that played when I first entered the game.

Near the end of the track I think it sounds very uplifting in a way.

  • It can be a warning, that even the most beautiful utopia can fail!

  • I think of a derilcit space station just floating in space when listening to this

  • Whoa, sounds kinda awesome.

  • @PieMoe Indeed it does! Scary too.

  • CYLON OCCUPIED CAPRICA

  • This song reminds me of Sim City 3000 really. I failed that game badly =.="

  • Scary stuff

  • I really ought not to listen to this at 1 o'clock in the morning in an unlit room...

  • @ChrisGJ700 lol agree wit yu on tht 1 lol

  • tell a friend to watch this

    turn the volume up

then sneak up to them and scream "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZOMBIEGRUES!"

  • I think of alien-looking large, slim spaceships flying slowly trough the dark vacuum of space...

  • I've gotten this one to play on it's own when i had about 90% of the map's citys either destroyed or taxed up the yinyang,

  • Comment removed

  • I imagine Earth destroyed and you walk alone in the yellow dust filled sky fearing that mutated animals may attack you from any corne. A strong wind blows past and reveals in front the a city in ruins, skyscrapers with smashed windows ah just imagine world after doomsday

  • Re: KiranGlitch: "Maybe it's an Easter Egg"

An Easter Egg painted with Sim Alien blood.

  • Every city has it dark side, ya know...

  • Lol i also remember being scared of this song because it reminded me of aliens.

  • It's like Half-Life 2 but not Half-life 2.

  • @0022acc Rise and Shine, Mr. Mayor... rise and... shine.

  • @Branimations Wake up and ... Smell the taxes. The right man in the wrong place, can make all the difference in the world.

  • maybe your city or region must be a particular state to be played - like when it is at its peak population or when it is at its peak population and a disaster happens or maybe its an easter egg?!!!

  • I used to be scared of this song.

  • this sounds like the day blackness falls on the earth and gradually sucks life out of everything, turning planet earth into a deserted ghost town devoid of life.

  • actually no, i retract my previous comment. it's more post-apocalyptic and 'bleak, grey, deserted industrial streets' dystopian. air of defeat, anticipation of conflict with another world... kind of like nineteen eighty-four... orwellian, almost...

    forgive me, i'm rambling.

  • @waIIflower Thanks. . . . . . I needed that

  • @morgan5154 Sarcasm?

  • i don't hear this music in sim city 4 at all

  • because it's not selected in the playlist! Read the description.

  • " WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM"

  • This is my favorite piece from Sim City 4. It makes me think of evolution and the big bang. It's an epic feeling this song gives.

  • Comment removed

  • ... the part where the Nazi walks by the opening in the wall , only feet from you, looks into the darkness right at you and doesn't see you. That part of the game scared the crap out of me, because I wasn't expecting that!!!!=)=)

  • this song is so creepy, it reminds me of nazi zombies or just zombies of being alone... with zombies lol or a game where u r all alone and u are just waiting for something to jump out and grab u from the looming shadows. Also it reminds me of the level on "Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway .(great game) where you are in the creepy old delapitated bombed-out hospital. the creepy guitar cord that comes at random interviles (specifically at 1:20, 2:00, and 2:10) would be great for ...

  • 2:55

  • mine plays this all the time when i select a zone to build a city in!

  • This would be really good music on a "Who wants to be a Millionaire" type show for the $1,000,000 question. It's almost like something is going to jump out at you. I just love this soundtrack.

  • This is simcity 4's excuse for Simcity 3000's Illumination. Pa-thetic. lol

still creepy and well done, dont get me wrong.

  • i hear evil church bells

  • this music track reminds me when i played silent hill

  • now why the fuck did you say that. You just ruined the song for me.

  • Reminds me of the music in the old Fallout games.

  • HUDAHUAUHSAUHDUAUHDA]

    HOLY SHIT.

  • lolwut?

  • I dont' find this song depressing. It sounds more like something important is going to happen, like if the world is going to suffer a change.

  • When in SimCity 4, i had a war, and that music would always play...

  • Had a war? wtf you can have wars, in game?

  • Its a mod.

  • SWEET can you send me the name of the mod or link PLEASE!

  • Really awesome song... I don't know why, but it reminds me of the Bible:

First God made heaven & earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters...

  • what makes this so rare?

  • Sounds like Bio Hazard 2 at Umbrella..

  • In a way this music, especially the beginning, reminds me of the feel of the game Fallout.

  • this song reminds me of something liek an impending doom from the sun.

  • Ok, this is fun yet really scary at the same time.

On a rainy night (Late at night), turn all your lights off in your room, then listen to this song. It is soo scary.

  • LOL this song is nothing scary compared to

The legend of zelda Oricona of time the shadow temple. hope you listen to that one

  • i agree with you , that zelda ost is kinda creepy 0_0. but i think this simcity ost is more scary . that zelda ost is just... creepy..... :-/

  • this is the one song that i deeply remember from the game. it freaked me out when i first listened to it, but at the same time it's a really interesting song.

  • this is my favorite song. sometimes on a massive city i will destroy it a bit, then make it abandoned. iow playing this track to an abandoned city is pure brilliance. (check out my vid response for an abandoned town!)

  • makes me think of being in the lord of the rings and taking the first look at mordor

  • the definition of primordial is qoute "Early Beginings or something dark or the first stages of life' unqoute

  • This song is the only one that is unchecked when I install Sim City for some reason. It sounds very similar to the music in Sim Earth when the planet just begins and there is no life.

  • To me it sounds like a dark and chaotic place without any order whatsoever or joy, or hope, just a cruel, dark, and frigid world. But starting at 3:50 Pandora's lost hope arrives and the scene is filled up with light beaming threw the infinite darkness.

  • I think they called this Primordial Dream was because of the sound in this clip feels like dark beginnings of our planet (rock and lava) and eventually the primordial soup on a hot planet. This is from a evolutionists point of view. The other (wonderfull) song 'above the clouds' gives me the feel of God creating the planet from a creationists view. I certainly like both songs. :D

  • amazing

  • Sounds more like a track out of Playstation Doom or something

  • Kind of a cool song, doesn't fit SC4 though. I'm glad they actually put it in the game anyway even though it's sorta scary.

SC3KU had a lot of music similar to this, but nothing quite this dark.

  • not that hard to find out why this music never play's with my simcity 4.

    (i don't like this one.)

  • Why is this rare in Sim City?

  • read the info

  • Actually SimCity 3000 Unlimited (World Edition in non-US countries) had a lot of music like this (for example, Infrastructure). This song is unchecked in my copy of SimCity 4 Deluxe too.

  • This song is...beautiful

It is unity, it is chaos, it is destruction and creation, it is death and rebirth, it is evil and good. it is the epicenter, like the line between dystopia and utopia

  • i hear this song everytime i play sim city 4 o.0

  • really i've never heard this song before the most common in my game is wheels of progress and floating population

  • I remember this song and it would always play during God Mode. I turned it off because God Mode songs always kind of depressed me.

I don't remember this not being available in-game. I have Deluxe Edition, so maybe that's a reason for it...?

  • This song is scary, frieghtning, and depressing!!!

I never put that song on when I am playing because it makes me feel like my town is acting strange!!!

  • no this music is not evil, but rather chaotic

just like the beginning of the universe

  • Nah, glass11, more like, "the end of the universe", rather than beginning.

  • uh go to merriam webster and type in 'primordial' and see what you get...

  • Um, you didn't really get what I meant. Uh, I guess it's my fault for not being specific. :P

Anyways, by listening to that music, it made me think of the end of the universe rather than the beginning. Since it sounded scary and all. It reminded me more of destruction rather than creation.

And for primordial, I didn't even get to read it until now. I NEVER knew it was the title...Until now. I might've forgotten. But I definitely know what does the word mean...Come on. ;)

  • lulz :D

  • @Kingkong922

Same for me. It make me think of the universe ending in a "big chill", expanding to the infinite and cooling away, until nothing's left. :<

  • Perhaps a definition can help - Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary:

-primordial (here, the adjective): "first created or developed / existing in or persisting from the beginning"

-dream (we all know what this noun means, but...) "a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep"

---maybe it's about the creator's (player's) thoughts about the bare landscape of an undeveloped region.
