Got a Diablo 2 feel about this, reminds me of Act 4 or something, when you enter the Cathedral area where you end up fighting Diablo. YOu enter, and there is all the mages firing projectiles at you and so on, then at 2:00 you have opened all the seals and then the light changes and and you hear the evil sound...Diablo! 4:46 is the climax of the battle, Diablo has only a few HP left, one last hit should do it, then at 5:09 its over and you have defeated Diablo.
Yep. If I ever write a horror story, and there is ever a seen where a character's face melts off of their muscle tissue, this is the song that will help me.
lol but this song is only one that is automatically unchecked on the button in the music list after i installed sim city 4...i know why they unchecked this song XP so scaryyy
I remember when I used to play this game when I was eight. The first time this song came on, I crapped myself. I couldn't play it for weeks after. It was the same with The Sims after the first time the Grim Reaper came...
This plays during terraforming before you start actually building a city, but it's not rare during that period of gameplay - it might actually be the only song that plays.
this song used to play sometimes when i would switch cities... lol in the city il hear nice progressive music.. then the region im lik ... uhhh mmm *scared lol
This one time I was building lots of Residential zones and then they stopped being built after several were. I think I reached my max build on residential buildings XD.
i think this is supposed to reference the subconscious horror of The Sims.
you create your own city, often leaving the citizens groveling in filth and decay. you create volcanoes and meteor showers, destroying the city and killing millions, simply for fun. you control people's lives, with them not aware of it, forcing them to hate and die, forcing them to be sad or happy, to sleep or not to sleep, to take away all freedom. you are soulless. you are evil. you are madness incarnate.
It sonuds like if you play this game and then your whole computer will go off and then it truns on again and what do you see is"To lose the game, you must destory your city and hear this." This is EA dark side of gaming. It tells you that all of your games that is not EA made is gone, Your game consloe and PC are now under there contorl and you are there slave for life. EA have it evil side.
Sounds like life just beginning, nothing but the sound of wind, everything is barren rock while in some small pool of water the simplest cells are beginning to multiply. The start of a great journey.
I imagine a dark city, filled with the grim remains of the days of old. A testament to the folly of man. The dark, teared skeletons of the former skyscrapers are like dead bodies, stuck in an expression of horror and pain, like if they died trying to reach the sky to escape the death on the city. Only smoke and ashes remains now, with the bodies of the unknown residants of the civilization of the past laying on the street, and this song, playing in the background.
This song makes me think of a dark graveyard, especially in the beginning. The end of the song is almost happy, but it isn't, almost like the future is uncertain. There is only the hope that life could get better, but there is no guarantee.
It also sounds pretty "nightmare-ish." I could imagine running in a dark graveyard, and trying to escape an evil force. Maybe that's a metaphor for deeply impoverished cities. People can't get out - They're just waiting to die there - A 'graveyard.'
It would be perfectly fitting as the theme song for an Eldritch Abomination. A being imperceptible to the poor tiny sims sitting below in their simmish town. The creature behind the mask of 'mayor', taking joy in both amorally building up a mighty and successful town, driving it into the ground, and sending down tornadoes and aliens and monsters before finally ruining his creation in a rapture of game-overness.
That or what happens to the sims when the game crashes.
I believe its meant to be the lack of sentience in a metaphorically primal being. For instance, a mayor who has not only reduced his entire population of 1, 309, 238 into rubble, but radiating them in the process for the purpose of churning a massive stew of radioactive Sim in which case they will die an excruciating death and transform into radioactive super zombies could be considered a "brute" or "beast".
oh god, it sort of reminds me of that one theme in Fallout, the church theme (it also played when you'd come across ruined cities on the world map. Maybe it was meant for a city that was really bad, lots of pollution, maybe a nuclear power plant exploded, uninhabitable.
I imagine Earth destroyed and you walk alone in the yellow dust filled sky fearing that mutated animals may attack you from any corne. A strong wind blows past and reveals in front the a city in ruins, skyscrapers with smashed windows ah just imagine world after doomsday
maybe your city or region must be a particular state to be played - like when it is at its peak population or when it is at its peak population and a disaster happens or maybe its an easter egg?!!!
this sounds like the day blackness falls on the earth and gradually sucks life out of everything, turning planet earth into a deserted ghost town devoid of life.
actually no, i retract my previous comment. it's more post-apocalyptic and 'bleak, grey, deserted industrial streets' dystopian. air of defeat, anticipation of conflict with another world... kind of like nineteen eighty-four... orwellian, almost...
... the part where the Nazi walks by the opening in the wall , only feet from you, looks into the darkness right at you and doesn't see you. That part of the game scared the crap out of me, because I wasn't expecting that!!!!=)=)
this song is so creepy, it reminds me of nazi zombies or just zombies of being alone... with zombies lol or a game where u r all alone and u are just waiting for something to jump out and grab u from the looming shadows. Also it reminds me of the level on "Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway .(great game) where you are in the creepy old delapitated bombed-out hospital. the creepy guitar cord that comes at random interviles (specifically at 1:20, 2:00, and 2:10) would be great for ...
This would be really good music on a "Who wants to be a Millionaire" type show for the $1,000,000 question. It's almost like something is going to jump out at you. I just love this soundtrack.
Really awesome song... I don't know why, but it reminds me of the Bible:
First God made heaven & earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters...

this is my favorite song. sometimes on a massive city i will destroy it a bit, then make it abandoned. iow playing this track to an abandoned city is pure brilliance. (check out my vid response for an abandoned town!)
This song is the only one that is unchecked when I install Sim City for some reason. It sounds very similar to the music in Sim Earth when the planet just begins and there is no life.
To me it sounds like a dark and chaotic place without any order whatsoever or joy, or hope, just a cruel, dark, and frigid world. But starting at 3:50 Pandora's lost hope arrives and the scene is filled up with light beaming threw the infinite darkness.
I think they called this Primordial Dream was because of the sound in this clip feels like dark beginnings of our planet (rock and lava) and eventually the primordial soup on a hot planet. This is from a evolutionists point of view. The other (wonderfull) song 'above the clouds' gives me the feel of God creating the planet from a creationists view. I certainly like both songs. :D
Actually SimCity 3000 Unlimited (World Edition in non-US countries) had a lot of music like this (for example, Infrastructure). This song is unchecked in my copy of SimCity 4 Deluxe too.
It is unity, it is chaos, it is destruction and creation, it is death and rebirth, it is evil and good. it is the epicenter, like the line between dystopia and utopia
Um, you didn't really get what I meant. Uh, I guess it's my fault for not being specific. :P
Anyways, by listening to that music, it made me think of the end of the universe rather than the beginning. Since it sounded scary and all. It reminded me more of destruction rather than creation.
And for primordial, I didn't even get to read it until now. I NEVER knew it was the title...Until now. I might've forgotten. But I definitely know what does the word mean...Come on. ;)
this is...... eerie.. but... strangely epic

This song is...beautiful
It is unity, it is chaos, it is destruction and creation, it is death and rebirth, it is evil and good. it is the epicenter, like the line between dystopia and utopia

I remember this song and it would always play during God Mode. I turned it off because God Mode songs always kind of depressed me.
I don't remember this not being available in-game. I have Deluxe Edition, so maybe that's a reason for it...?

no this music is not evil, but rather chaotic
just like the beginning of the universe

Nah, glass11, more like, "the end of the universe", rather than beginning.

uh go to merriam webster and type in 'primordial' and see what you get...
Glass11 3 years ago
Um, you didn't really get what I meant. Uh, I guess it's my fault for not being specific. :P
Anyways, by listening to that music, it made me think of the end of the universe rather than the beginning. Since it sounded scary and all. It reminded me more of destruction rather than creation.
And for primordial, I didn't even get to read it until now. I NEVER knew it was the title...Until now. I might've forgotten. But I definitely know what does the word mean...Come on. ;)

@Kingkong922
Same for me. It make me think of the universe ending in a "big chill", expanding to the infinite and cooling away, until nothing's left. :<

Perhaps a definition can help - Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary:
-primordial (here, the adjective): "first created or developed / existing in or persisting from the beginning"
-dream (we all know what this noun means, but...) "a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep"
---maybe it's about the creator's (player's) thoughts about the bare landscape of an undeveloped region.
