@roadrunner304 dude its normal for a fighter pilot to pull 9 Gs. Airshow Pilots especially pull about -6Gs to +10Gs in their aircraft, and they dont pass out...let alone die. Also I have seen one Red Bull Air Race where one of the pilots pulled 13Gs...crazy but not impossible!
you wanna fly upside down..you turn the stick all way left to your upside down and than hold the stick forwward so your wing tale stands up...dont drag in back cause then your going strait to ground..
i bet they are the best,,,,and these maneuvers are difficult.
BUT,,,not very exciting to watch second time....wish it could be more fun maneuvers. By the way,,,these maneuvers seems so similar to blue angles too.
Considering that the military barely has 50 F-22's, it's unlikely they will give the Thunderbirds permission to use them. The F-16 will be used by the Thunderbirds for years to come.
Hence why I said "Almost". As a demonstration team they might not pull 9 g's...but in some maneuvers I'm pretty sure they pull at least 6. And considering all of them are Air Force pilots they HAVE had to experience 9 g's in the centrifuge...and they clearly did not die.
that's cool, since the 4 would usually take off together while the solos take off afterwards, i like how the start off together, and the solos split off to start the show since you aren't at the base and can't see the runway
A typical person can handle about 5 gs thats all

and the aircrfaft would been overstressed and the engine would blow up in fire...if those GS you talk about would be used..

man,,,these maneuvers are boring
they should use f-22 to pump people up.
and instead of 6,,,,use like 20 airplanes. then would be more fun.

To answer the question why the thunderbirds use the f-16 and the f-18 super hornet.... the f-18 is a navy airplane and the thunderbirds are Air Force
loverboi130 2 years ago
this is not that difficult manuvers..Infact its very easy..You dont have to be called professional to do that...
roadrunner304 2 years ago
Have you done any of these moves EVERY in your life???????????????????......If not u can't say its easy just because you played Ace Combat.
POPJack1717 2 years ago

BullFrog5190 2 years ago
These pilots rank as some of the best in the world. Usually things that take years of training are not very easy.
SpeedDemon88X 2 years ago
what this pilots do is not difficult att all dude..its very easy to controll this jets...
roadrunner304 2 years ago
Id like to see you take almost 9 g's and not pass out.
SpeedDemon88X 2 years ago

Are you listening to their radio chatter? I read the Steve's airshow FAQ. but is it them or are they in contact with KFRG?
Linkinfank 2 years ago
Oh it's the team. They would not tie up Republic's tower frequency.
airshowfansh 2 years ago
all of you people are insane lol. The f-16 far surpasses the f/18. But not the f/18 super hornet.

BullFrog5190 3 years ago
what do you mean by more professional...?
taktikal24 3 years ago
Also... the F/A-18 is NOT louder than these F-16's... if you've been to both shows you'd know that for sure.
taktikal24 3 years ago
Why would they use F-16's instead of FA-18's?
methhockey27 3 years ago
cause f-16's kick ass.... xp, i dont know o.o
