does it cost to update the firmware without connecting the phone to your computer? cause i heard there may be a transfer fee

someone help me please, it has now been 2 months that i haven't updated v12 firmware to my nokia n96 due to it not being available. why? =S why has other people managed to update and not me

Woo, I posted this comment 9 months ago lol I don't own an n96 anymore, just an n97 now :) I think you're better off updateing your mobile firmware via PC suite..

The N96 is a disgrace, I rue the day I brought this shitty excuse of a phone. The N95 series blows the N96 out of the wonder, the N96 is more like a downgrade then a upgrade. I am a life long Nokia Fan, but the N96 disappointed many of thier customers, because of its atrocious design, hardware, and software.

The Nokia N96 is the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced with a mobile phone.

It is slow. It frequently crashes/reboots. The voice dialling is lousy, the DVB-H feature does not work here in Australia, and the Nokia Maps GPS is atrocious.

Nokia's customer service is very poor. Two emails via their website have yet to be answered, despite an automated message saying I'd get one!

My advice? Forget this phone. Get a cheaper phone, buy a GPS and an iPod. Trust me, you'll be happier.

very dissapointed with the N96, Screen light turns off, and have to take the battery out to get a light?

actualy you can solve your n96 phone prablom:

1- go to setting.

2- factory setting

* then it will restart automaticly.
