I've loved romantic music even when I was too small to know anything about relationships beyond the naive, idealistic notion that true love is forever, a belief which I fight to hold onto today. Hearing this again makes me wish I had married my true love at 15 and stood by her from that day onward...:(
Have some great memories to this song from January of 1990....thanks for posting....does anyone know how this did on the charts? You never hear this on the radio anymore, not even on lite stations and it's just not fair. This lineup of Chicago proved that there was certainly life after Peter Cetera. I think this song would have been even more popular, but at the time of it's release the world was already changing it's tastes. If it had come out in say, maybe 1986, it would have been huge.
@marygrace861 Yes...I said,"This song and 'Will You Still love Me" were the most successful hits that Chicago had with Jason Scheff as a lead vocalist...and still those fucking idiots/assholes that control the band won't let Jason sing these songs live...!! How horrendous!!"
after sleeping with many woman 20 years of marrage ending in devorce this song brings it all back the joy the tears the whole thing but now i have been without a female partner for 5 years and i have never been so well off and happy love is great but when you live your life for yourself its much better guys so give them up
@unlockthepower Haha, while I sympathize with your position, and even agree with the last part to an extent, it's pretty rash to just advise all married guys to "give up your women". :-P
@unlockthepower I have to say I developed a phobia of women. I I dont actively seek dates anything now days and im in my prime. I get lonely sometimes but I have to say I am alot more at peace.
Fuck is this a tearjerker geeeez they really know how to get down into your emotions like the waves slapping the coast shiiiit ! It helped me get my tears out!
@Supersweetguy written by Jason Scheff, Chas Sandford and Bobby Caldwell and recorded by the band Chicago for their 1988 album Chicago 19. and 1989 album Greatest Hits 1982-1989. Scheff sang the lead vocals.
@greenjelloph I have their greatest hits which was released in 2005. I am a fan of Chicago, the band. I miss Peter Cetera. I thought Peter Cetera was the one sang this song.
This and Will You Still Love Me are 2 of my favs. Both songs without Cetera too...
